- I this video, I explained to you the simplest concept of liquid line sizing and line sizing criteria a process design engineer(chemical engineer or petroleum engineer) uses while sizing any plant piping or pipeline. Hope you like this lecture, I will also upload soon gas line sizing and two-phase or multiphase line sizing video also. keep watching my youtube channel. Better subscribe it to get notification of all my videos on time to stay tune with time.
I really appreciate your effort in putting this online, Thanks a lot. This has really help me a lot as I did a course on process engineering design in 2014 & this has really refreshed my memory again.
Please Sir, what is the basis for limiting the velocity of water in this pipe to a value of 1.5 - 4.5 m/s. Is this always the case when water is flowing in a pipe.
yes, thats a general values we take. But incase of Hydrocarbons distillation, the values differ and most preferred is 10ft/s
Good evening sir
Very good explanation
Thank you so much 👍
I am working as a project engg and this indeed a usefull vedio.. Wanted to know how to calculate the velocity when we don't know the pipe ID and pressure?
Thank u for clearing the concept......👍👍
thank you sirji good got concept cleared read crane paper no.410 but didn't understood
Super sir
Can you suggest a reference book for the sizing/calculation!
Nice
Sir, do you have any idea for calculating flow rate for Medical gas pipeline system used in hospitals?
Thanks for uploading this video. Informational and useful as a process engineer. I am having doubts regarding the range of Reynolds number. What if the NRe ranges between 2000 - 4000, how will we take the value for f ? Also what actually is equivalent length, what value we will assign for that? Anticipating a quick reply, thanks...
If NRe ranges between 2000-4000, then its transient flow but For design purposes we can consider it as turbulent flow.
thanks for sharing very useful video . but when are u gonna share gas line sizing and two-phase (LPG) line sizing video ?
soon i will share , i am reviewing the comments and demands this month
as the distance is longer. meaning w need to make it a bbigger size?
On what basis did you assume velocity 2.5 to 4.5?
that will be based on erosion velocity
Thanks Sir...😊
Any good books you refer to?
"Fluid Mechanics Concept and Centrifugal Pump Design" available on Amazon
What is sizing calculater gad
Your voice is not loud and what you are writing not clear visible ...hmm live it
I will upload new video with clear voice
Is there by any chance I can contact you, I have a small job for you ?
