Y'know, before I first listened to this, I don't think I ever quite expected it to be rockabilly. Clearly, Elton John is singing about wanting to be Elvis Presley.

Did anyone else notice that one of lines in this song
("The time has come as someone said
      To talk of many things
      May be true
But I would rather stick to talking kings")
is a paraphrase of a verse from Lewis Carrol's narrative poem "The Walrus and the Carpenter" is a narrative poem by Lewis Carroll that appeared in his 1871 novel Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There
("The time has come," the Walrus said,
      "To talk of many things:
      Of shoes-and ships-and sealing-wax-
      Of cabbages-and kings-
And why the sea is boiling hot-
And whether pigs have wings.") ?
Got to hand it to Tim Rice, he really showed his work with thosw lyrics! 😃👍

Great cover/alternate version and has some classic Elton John charm. Truly a great example of how "Less is More" (it's got less instruments and is less complex but just as good).
