I was 7 or 8 when this hit the airwaves. It enhanced my childhood to have great songs like this providing the soundtrack. The best songs were brilliant. Masterpieces that get better with age. With lyrics that grab you later in life. Saturated with nostalgia. But meaningful in their own right.

@Elton John Are we really meant to believe that you are really Elton John? Your RUclips account was opened just a couple of months ago, it has no videos, no "about" info, and the email address you have provided is a Gmail address when the real Elton John would have an address associated with his actual domain name. And your comment, yeah...Elton has been doing his thing for decades, I'm certain that he's not browsing this comment section just waiting for an opportunity to tell "Mango" how much his comment means to him. You, sir, are a complete tool, nothing but a foolish fool.
him and his songwriter? You're talking about the legendary Bernie Taupin. And, by the way, Bernie was never in the studios. Wrote lyrics and Elton took it from there to put music in the words.
F. Dietrich So wasn't Freddie Mercury. Wgaff. Queen is my favorite band. Arguably best harmonizing group as well, only one's who come close is maybe.. Beatles and I'm not a huge fan. This is when Elton was pure gold. Bowie is up there too. Then 'Disturbed' is greatest current generation band, hands down.
For some reason, the "ballerina, you must've seen her-- dancing in the sand." line always chokes me up a bit. My daughter pretended to be a ballerina when she was 4 or 5 while at the beach one summer. I've never forgotten that moment. She's 22 now...😭

Elton and Bernie had the best written songs of the 70s! Even to this day they all stand up to the test of time. The talent of Elton is so underappreciated in today’s musical world. She led an amazing life. What else can you say? She was an amazing woman...I'm sad to hear that. I'm saddened to hear that.
Thank you
Best President ever
me and my mom used to dance to this when i was real young takes me back to were i was free of all worries and sadness thank you elton john
Bro you can still be free from every worry and sadness:)
2:32 "hold me closer, tony danza" LOL
GODDAMN IT, PHOEBE! XD
Two songs I will always listen to...
Tiny dance and landslide. Both, in my opinion, equally bring out every possible emotion with pure style! They don't make them like this anymore 😔
I agree but I think Pianoman also does the same
R.I.P. Grandma Betty. You were taken too soon 3 years ago today, this was your favorite song. Always was a pure soul and always in our hearts. 💜🕊️
God, I feel so bad. Sorry for your loss
I’m sorry for your loss. May she be in a better place now, may god be with you two❤️
may she rest in peace ❣
I'm so sorry for your loss,I can't imagine dealing with that.
Aah..RIP and god bless
My ex and I used to have this as 'our song'..
When we had broken up, he sent me this song of course saying "I want my tiny dancer back" ...
We never could go back, we tried, but this song always reminds me of the love we did share way before it was time to move on.
**A shout out to all those who have just gotten over a break up or going through one feeling and are feeling a bit lost xx There is light at the end, just keep searching peeps ☺️✌️ ☀️
Oh my gosh. I was just thinking of my girlfriend who I just broke up with and your comment encouraged me greatly
+Jonathan Dickey hang in there John, it's really hard, but we'll get there hey.. It sucks breaking up, it really does. But now it's time for you to be the best YOU can be ☀️✌️
omg you seem to be a very good person
Just get back together .happy ending for everybody
Fuck you on behalf of all men with broken hearts due to cold blooded whores
this is the song I listened to driving my wife to the hospital to deliver my first daughter . always loved the song that moment made it part of my life forever .
I love how music sticks with us in our memories and makes such an impact. Thank you for sharing this! ❤

Elton do you remember the Andersons
*oh yeah the Andersons how could you forget the Andersons*
Elton: Do you even care how much pressure I am under?
John Reid: Not really. I'll still be collecting my 20% long after you've killed yourself.
My dad is a huge fan of Elton John. Found this song through him. Now I’m a huge fan of Elton John.
Still enjoying this masterpiece in Feb 2022. Thank you, Sir Elton.
I remembered that one episode from "The Office" and had to come back.
I literally did the same just now!
Me too!

I once had love but he was bad evil we loved music together will I ever love again
As much as it was a comedy, it was also pretty touching in quite a few episodes
This song was playing as my daughter was born, still can't listen to it with out getting choked up, every time it plays a montage of her growing up plays in my head
Did u name her Tiny??
beautiful! you and your daughter rock on my friend
That's real nice, great song to be born to lmao
The song is about Bernie Taupin's wife. L.A. lady, seamstress for the band.
:'(
The best part for me is when he says "Jesus freaks out in the streets, handing tickets out for God". True Christians don't hate people for being gay. And when was the last time we ever saw a Christian handing out flyers? Lol. But I live in a different time so I can't assume what they lived back then. Bad ass song though! ♥️♥️
I don't consciously sing "So hold me closer tiny dancer" every time the song comes on. It's an involuntary reaction, but a welcome one.
I’m trying to memorize this song for my mom for Mother’s Day to sing it to her because it’s her favorite!❤️
Did you sing it and if so did she love it?
^
Chandler Birchield yeah I did she really loved it we went to get ice cream afterwards
Nice, also I decided to come back to this song because i'm upset learning that grumpy cat died
Bella Perez that’s actually so sweet
Every time I hear this song I think of my grandfather he was an amazing piano player due to polio when he was born his talent was truly amazing he idled Elton John for his talent he would always try to teach me to play his songs. Me grandfather recently passed on R.I.P Ralph 1952-2019

Elton John and Kakashi?? Take my like noble stranger! Have a great day!
One of the most incredible songs of all time. ...music and lyrics are so strictly connected to create a deep sense of missing someone you love, without feeling any need to be sad about it but only really nostalgic....thanx elton
I love coming to the comments of music like this because there are so many beautiful, sad, and heartwarming tales.
Lyrics by Bernie Taupin. He never gets credit. He's the hidden star behind Elton John.
but everyone knows and loves Bernie, well atleast I do. With rocketman movie coming out he had a big part and Elton very much shows us how much he loves him.
yes he is i agree
People who only view music on a surface level don't really know Bernie. But we true music fans of which there are many appreciate his genius... Of course along with Elton, together they crafted masterpieces!

God this song brings me such deep feelings of long ago. I literally get goose bumps listening to it. You know it has to be a great song to do that. One of his best. Ageless, timeless, pure emotion evoking, perfectedness. Thank you Elton ♥️
💯
I was 7 or 8 when this hit the airwaves. It enhanced my childhood to have great songs like this providing the soundtrack. The best songs were brilliant. Masterpieces that get better with age. With lyrics that grab you later in life. Saturated with nostalgia. But meaningful in their own right.
2020 who’s still listening? What a beautiful tune 🎶🎵

Febuary 16th me and my fiancee are listnening to it. We absolutely enjoy sir elton johns music.....

Amazing how when this was released, it was just good music, now it's memories of past times when things seemed brighter.
A great song by one of the greatest writers ever. Nothing left to say
He didnt write this.
He didn’t write this dawg
Ty for the reassurance dawg
@@Track1productions I didn't know that. I thought he wrote most of his own lyrics
this song came on the radio when I was with my mom and I started singing along. she looked at me shocked and was like "How do you know this song!" and I responded "who doesn't know Elton John"
my history teacher played this in class and it just gave me a massive nostalgia hit that I hadn't been able to hear in years. I was like holy crap I haven't heard this song in years, and so this just hit me really hard and powerfully. I miss the good ol' days.
the same thing happened to me, not with this song but with age of Aquarius it was actually insane 😭
Not sure if there has even been a better song than this. This is an absolute gem of a song & one that will be known for ages.
I came here because of ELTON JOHN.
That's it. No further thing to explain.
Sameee
Same here🥰
uh ok
@Elton John Are we really meant to believe that you are really Elton John? Your RUclips account was opened just a couple of months ago, it has no videos, no "about" info, and the email address you have provided is a Gmail address when the real Elton John would have an address associated with his actual domain name. And your comment, yeah...Elton has been doing his thing for decades, I'm certain that he's not browsing this comment section just waiting for an opportunity to tell "Mango" how much his comment means to him. You, sir, are a complete tool, nothing but a foolish fool.
Honestly I've been obsessed with this song for three months I listen to it when I'm sag, mad, or happy it's my life.
Anna Friend , who used to listen to it that is no longer with us? Ask someone older if you can't think of anyone yourself. Shalom.
Anna Friend .. Check out Lay lady Lay by Dylan.

Bernie Taupin was a Power as a song writer to Elton's musical talent. What would you do without this type of chemistry! Has to be unique.❤
Waiting for the Britney Remix!
Elton John is a genius. He creates beauty in sound.
he never wrote he songs him and his song writer had been doing the music since he first atarted
Jeremiah Points yes he did bernie taupin was his lyricist, elton wrote the music
him and his songwriter? You're talking about the legendary Bernie Taupin. And, by the way, Bernie was never in the studios. Wrote lyrics and Elton took it from there to put music in the words.
never could have done it without bernie taupin...
He does
I wanna do everything to this song - cry, run, dance, make love, shower, get married, and die. Is that so much to ask for?

Not at all :)
Love that song. Also love his songs Philadelphia freedom, Levon , Friends, Momma can't buy you love, etc
Yes please shower

Leaving to the marines soon this song is gunna play in my head while I’m saying goodbye to my parents and loved ones
The hook on this song is amazing
yeser it is !
1,700 idiots
But Elton John is amazingly GAY. Disagree?
Love IT!!!!
This was my parents wedding song ❤️
For some reason, the "ballerina, you must've seen her-- dancing in the sand." line always chokes me up a bit. My daughter pretended to be a ballerina when she was 4 or 5 while at the beach one summer. I've never forgotten that moment. She's 22 now...😭
I don't have a reason but this song keeps me from self deletion. I play it when I need to just feel life and remember.
And i feel... god in this chilies tonight...

john booker you sound extremely close minded to those who think differently. I believe he’s referring to his classy remarks regarding her passing, and this is coming from a woman in her late 30’s, who certainly has voted before. um elton john is a classic i love his music if that means i have bad taste who cares its my opinion
whoever is here listening to this masterpiece of elton john.... you have great taste in music.
Elton and Bernie had the best written songs of the 70s! Even to this day they all stand up to the test of time. The talent of Elton is so underappreciated in today’s musical world. I remember listening to his songs on the radio and then by buying the albums. Even if you didn’t like the song if you listen to it a few times you still realize it was awesomely great. Elton is a true icon and in a very small group of legends. Not unlike Tom Petty or Edward van Halen. I think I’m going to go listen to my Goodbye Yellowbrick Road album now. Which happens to be the first album I ever bought when I was around 12 years old. I bought it for Bennie and the jets. And what a jackpot that album turned out to be as far as great music. Thank you Elton for the hundreds of great well written songs.
Why are little kids stating their age like they are seeking some approval for liking older music? Who cares, just enjoy the song.
