Dude. this absolute BEAST of a rig is gonna be so beautiful when it's done. fantastic stuff, man. The grasp you have on this medium is truly admirable. The way you can take what you learned in class and then apply that to a quadruped?? unreal. Beautiful stuff, so excited to see the rest of this series
also, looking forward to hear more of his story! The stuff I've read on your Pitmeddon story is already amazing, so I can't wait to hear about this guy. He looks so sick, dude
finally,, my Michael waved dinner dude this is fantastic both ur art (as it always is) but also the video itself, ur able to explain these concepts super clearly esp for ur first time makin a video like this, the whole thing looks super professional dude
I've only dipped my toes into working with CSP so far, dreaming of making a scifi comic/story boarding as a hobby to fulfill my creative urges... This tutorial is fascinating, and earned you my sub as I want to see the rest!
It’s so inspiring to see you talk about your process! Rigging can be a struggle for sure, or just keeping up drawing in general. You’re the type of artist I look up to, hopefully I can make some great things too
Continuously impressed by your designs and turnarounds! This one especially is so consistent; also this video is so helpful i cant wait for the next one :>
This is so intriguing, it never even occurred to me that its possible to make digital puppets! I'm definitely gonna follow this series bc now i wanna know how it works lol
If you're an avid cartoon watcher you've probably seen puppet rigs in animation and didn't even know it!! Rick and Morty, Bluey, Amazing world of Gumball, Bojack Horseman, etc etc etc all utilize puppet rigs! :D
Ohhh okay yeah that makes sense! While I do watch a good number of cartoons (/animated shows), I've not seen any of the ones you've mentioned. I've seen things like gravity falls, shera, kipo and part of the dragon prince. I've also watched arcane and other things in that style, but I think they use 3d models for the characters there? Anyway, this technique is still really cool to me ^^
omg the design is so pretty! I am an aspiring animator as well and this video was really useful! I have never done puppet animation but this got me inspired :3
Amazing video! Can't wait for the next step and really love the character concept it's very fun and creative! Also do you think any too boom version would work or is it only recent ones?
As far as i’m aware everything I do should work with past toonboom versions! There might be some shortcuts/quality of life aspects that aren’t the same, but the core of it should definitely be possible ^^ thank you so much for watching!!! ❤❤
This is gonna be SO helpful for when I can finally get a Premium license because I realize just HOW limited Essentials really is (and I really want to try to learn puppet rigging)!
hell yeah!!! I'm lucky enough to have premium through my college right now, gonna try and take advantage of it as much as I physically can before I graduate ^^'
as someone who struggles to draw a straight line, i can’t even fathom how difficult this is. absolutely insane.
ty dude!!!! ❤❤
