It looks like that generator has seen a lot of heavy duty use. Your assessment of the fault is spot on. Carburetors for these predators are very reasonable on Amazon or other sources, usually about $35. I would not hesitate to spend that on a generator that still functions well. I have found that the Predator motors and generators are of good quality for the money. I cannot justify spending 2-4 times more for a similar Honda or Yamaha product when the Predators function so well.
I completely agree. I will say I have yet to have luck with the cheap Amazon carbs yet though. I have a shelf covered in the slide styles for atvs. But yes the predator engines, be it cloned or not are a good engine. Thank you for your comment and views.
Great video. Got the same generator Thanks to a rare storm for this part of Md. I got to really use it for 3 straight days ,couldn't have asked for more but I will file this memo for future reference. THanks.
Generators should idle at 62hz. under load they should drop to 60hz. Do this if you use solar.... solar inverters will curtail production at 62hz. It's a coordination thing.
LOL That's the intent. Just don't have any on hand at the moment. I looked for a while and couldn't find it. Actually wait, Just remembered its in with the four wheeler parts. Ill get on that tomorrow.
Why do people buy cheap equipment and then are surprised when it fails early? You are worried about the hertz meanwhile the power produced by that generator is so dirty it destroys the electronics.
Had a scope on mine, a Predator 9000 Just like the one in this video. It was not that bad. A Keurig coffee maker that would not work with a 4000w Champion that I borrowed the previous year had no problem with the Predator. No, the power is not as clean as an inverter but again it's not bad.

I have to use mine 7 hrs a day every day and get warranty cause I might have to trade it in for new.

I think they are just fine. Not sure why people hate on them.
I have had one that I bought new probably close to 20 years and it runs great, but I take care if it @@whitetailridgehomestead

Frequency (Hz), how about a small zip tie, or two.
Just using what I had at the moment.
I hope you get over your cold soon.
Trust me I know it's annoying and I'm trying.
JB weld it bud. With the bread tie.lol
