No matter how many times I’ve seen him or watching the play throughs, I’m always stunned by his inventive hand/foot combinations. Just a monster musician.
Vlad is a classically trained pianist. He taught himself drums. The band has kinda summed him up with "if we needed a trumpet player, give Vlad 2 months". I just discovered you, so I'll need to backtrack, but Mediator is definitely one to catch of you haven't already. That one is pretty brutal. Subbed!
My FAVORITE band, JINJER! Vlad is an absolutely remarkable drummer, and is right-handed. He trained as a classical pianist and only started drumming shortly before joining Jinjer. He is the lead musical composer for Jinjer and does absolutely amazing things! You really should check out the many other drum playthroughs he has. I'd like to see/hear your reaction to Vortex, Mediator, and Who is Gonna Be the One.
"Open handed" is the term I've heard for Vlad's style. He's self taught but has a music degree where his main instrument was classical piano. He's a decent guitarist too. Re sticks, he often seems to use reversed or double-butted ones. It's the foot patterns I'd like to see in detail, he's very... syncopated.
Theyre amazing live so is another band you should check out, unleash the archers.their drummer had a crazy double pedal technique.i recommend their song awakening the full band playthrough
I am 57 and am a huge Jinjer fan. It's more just a matter of preference. I did also play drums for well over two decades however too so I appreciate them on a technical level as well.

Shortly before joining Jinjer? In 2010 Vlad was already an accomplished drummer in Zlam.

He has a really good drum routine in vortex. Super jazzy and technical

I’ve been a fan of thrash and death metal since the 90s, and yet this … 🤷🏽♂️ both the song and the drumming. Maybe I’m too old.

@@tyef572 No, my favorite drummers are Steve Gadd and Weckl. I just find this extremely uninventive. But hey, opinions are subjective.
You might find Mediator and Under The Dome more interesting...there are drum playthroughs for them.
