GodDAMN! This video was actually kind of hard to make! The ReMarkable 2 is a really fascinating epaper tablet. I know I talked a lot of shit about this e-reader, note taking thing, but honestly I have to say that as digital note taking devices go it’s really strikingly enjoyable to use!
The handwriting aspects of it are lovely. As long as you don’t want to move your notes off of it. The companion apps and ReMarkable’s cloud service is frankly kind of garbage. Ultimately, I’m just here to note the flaws and the improvements. And honestly, if you can handle the terrible syncing experience, this device really is re- Really great for note taking.

Nice review, but my experience is that remarkable has a very neat solution for transfer to pc. Just install the remarkable software on your pc. So a large part of your review, I think, is not the fault remarkable but yours. Of course, they should have made the option more obvious. And I also returned my remarkable because of the connect plan and limited functionality. But a lack of transfer to pc was definitely not the reason!

Thanks for your thoughts! This is part one of a three part video series! Of course I can see your point, but I haven't actually addressed the issue of companion software yet. I’m wondering if you have a compatibility issue with your Wifi or some other network problem. I can transfer large files in a reasonable amount of time over the air. There are also numerous ways and hacks to do data transfers over wire, including the free third-party software suite called reMarkable Connection Utility (RCU)
Well, RCU is free if you compile it yourself. The author provides ready to install binaries for $12.

Yeah! I've find focus mode to be really intensely useful! Does the onyx book also let you write in it?
The Onyx Boox Note Air 2 is a very good Remarkable competitor. It is probably superior to Remarkable 2 in every way other than simplicity and physical feel (complex software, poor default stylus and the typical glass tablet feeling).
