    In my head canon, there are still dragons in Valyria, when Balerion the black dread flew there with Aerea Targaryen, he returned to kings landing with scars and was still bleeding. A fair question is what are the dragons eating? Each other, the cannibal is a prime example of how this is feasible and it would explain why Balerion was attacked upon arriving there. I also think the reason he brought the young Targaryen girl, and why she returned with dragon wyrms inside her is he wanted to breed more Targaryens and restart Old Valyria but he didn't exactly know how they did it, so it failed.

    • @DngrDan
      @DngrDan Год назад +228

      Did she not return with literal worms with human faces inside her - not dragon wyrms? I think Valyria after the Doom is corrupted beyond belief and the residual blood magic that remains after the fallout taints everything in and around the peninsula. That's why there are so many horrors there. The closest city to the Smoking Sea (Mantarys) has a sinister reputation and is rumored to be an entire city full of freaks. Tyrion sees a two-headed slave from Mantarys and Dany's envoys that go to Mantarys to earn their support are returned to her as pickled heads in jars. My head canon was always that dragons are originally from Asshai and were only in Valyria because the Valyrians are the sole people who could tame them through magic. But who can say? Balerion definitely got into it with something at least as big as he was.

    • @jisooschrist9717
      @jisooschrist9717 Год назад +171

      Aerea did not intentionally impregnate herself..hell she probably doesn’t even know about how pregnancy works because she was too young. Too young and inexperienced to control Balerion. They went to Valyria because Aerea wanted to go home back to Kingslanding..away from Dragonstone. But Balerion misinterpreted home to Valyria.

    • @ConnorLikesPie
      @ConnorLikesPie Год назад +76

      @@jisooschrist9717 I forgot that part about misinterpreting home but you're absolutely right! And I don't think Aerea did it to herself, but Balerion put her in a place where those things were used to make more dragon people or something, dragons have some kind of intelligence so my thinking was he was trying to use her to make more dragon riders as he lived there before the doom and may have witnessed or even experienced how the black magic happened that bonded humans to dragons

    There’s also the theory that the Faceless Men brought about the Doom. The slaves in Valyria would pray for the deaths of their masters, some of which were the mages controlling the Fourteen Flames. When too many of these mages were killed off, the Fourteen Flames erupted.

      It's pretty obvious Doom was caused by the children of the forest. GRRM created one race that can summon cataclysmic magic, the children, and they've done it many many times in an attempt to protect their world.
      Their magic created the others as a weapon to fight the men, race of ice. Now there's also a mysterious race of fire, Valyrians. We know first hero met with the children and that gave the answer to end the Long Night.
      When you connect the dots, children's magic created a new race of fire, the first Valyrian, Son of Fire, also known as Azor Ahai. A promise was made that the weapon will be destroyed after the Long Night ends in order to prevent a similar runaway effect that happened with the others.
      Valyrian Freehold was formed in secret far away from the greenseers sight. It also only came to existence directly after the Long Night, a bit strange coincidence, _almost like those two events are mysteriously linked_ .
      Valyrians conquered Essos which resulted in the Andal migration to Westeros. This also meant stories of the magical dragon riders in the East finally reached the deepest forests in the west, and children finally learnt of the betrayal how the weapon wasn't destroyed after all.
      They gathered together and did their modus operandi, blood sacrificed their entire race to the brink of extinction summoning the Doom over Valyria.
      But one family survived.

      Motive is that their magic created the Valyrians as a weapon to fight against the Others, and a promise was made to destroy the weapon after the Long Night ended. Last Hero/Son of Fire/Azor Ahai died, but somehow Valyrian blood survived.
      They settled near the Fourteen Flames, mentions of the Valyrian Freehold only exist after the Long Night. As expected, they soon rose to power and dominated the entire continent.
      This resulted in the Andal migration and songs of magical dragon riders in the East finally reached the deepest forests in Westeros, and children learned of this betrayal.

    I also think that the Dragonlords knew about the Long Night and were creating such monsters for their army against the dead. That would explain why they created Dragonstone long before the Targaryens went there, and there was a beacon in Oldtown, which the Hightowers covered over with their white tower. I think that was a beacon that would alight itself when the Long Night happened, signaling the Valyrians that it was time to attack.

      nah, the targaryans were essentially nothing in valyria they were a very minor house that held nearly no power, their movement wouldnt have really changed anything in valyria

    What if the Targaryens actually caused the Doom while trying to escape the Doom?

      no. They have dream about the doom even Tell to other Dragonlord family but they moked The Targaryen just because they minor among 42 Dragonlord family.

      @@darellmawitjere There are actually very strong hints that the Targaryens caused the doom on purpose because their "Freehold" was so vile and evil with black magic slavery and blood magic sacrifices for everything.
      There is a very good video about it on RUclips.

      @@yazanmowedTargaryens literally had no power nor the guts to go against the full might of valyria. It was far too risky for them. Also, the targaryens were also among those who benefited from black magic and slavery so your point doesn't make any sense

      That would have been epic as HELL. Humans can't keep up with a show for a long time that's why we need Anime like Demon Slayer.

    Nothing is more important than the longevity of our name. Our legacy must go on, that’s why we inbreed and also settled right here. Right where we’re TRAPPED by FOURTEEN VOLCANOES. Because symbolism is more important than safety. 🤣🤣🤣

    Why are show only people commenting here? 90% of the books never made it to screen and a huge % was changed for BS. If you haven’t read the books at least once please don’t speculate based on your show watching
