- If you have Atrial Fibrillation or know someone that does, check out this video where Dr. James Kneller shocks the heart back to a regular pulse.
What is SC Cardioversion?
Cardioversion is a medical procedure that restores a normal heart rhythm in people with certain types of abnormal heartbeats (arrhythmias).
Cardioversion is usually done by sending electric shocks to your heart through electrodes placed on your chest. It's also possible to do cardioversion with medications.
Cardioversion is usually a scheduled procedure that's performed in a hospital. You should be able to go home the same day as your procedure. For most people, cardioversion quickly restores a normal heart rhythm.
Interesting stuff. I've had this procedure twice already. Hopefully no more! 4 years and counting.
Did did it hurt?
My mom is also suffering from atrial fibrillation she takes her medication regularly 3 years ago she had this procedure done shok treatment two days ago she was at ER and today they did shok on her heart. Is this harmful condition please tell me how she can manage the condition to stay healthy
Ive had this done twice, First time I nearly bit my tongue in half, It did no good, I still went back to a-fib.
Amazing how that works,
My 12 year old had this done this year 2022 and watching this is making me really upset! Glad they have technologies but no one should have to endure this 😢
@steven milstead I get you but when it’s your child it’s still very scary BUT your right gotta be grateful we have the technology to fix these issues!
I was not fully sedated when they did mine. It was awful!!!
Scheduled for this later this afternoon.
I'd piss on a car battery if I thought it would get rid of this awful feeling.
Just had this Electric Cardioversion done two days ago. For an old white guy, I now got great rhythm...lol
I did this today I was fully awake and they had to do it 3 times
Hardcore.
I have never had to have the cardioversion but I have had MANY DC shocks over my life as a welder for sure. My ears rung and I couldn't open my mouth or sit up straight for a couple of days after one. Wonder how the cardioversion feels.
Under sedation, you feel nothing. Without sedation, it's like getting kicked by a horse.
