    Doesn’t the entire torpedo canister fill up with water defeating the metering function of the valve???

      @Bunkysworkshop  2 месяца назад

      Yes however you have a control knob that you can adjust the amount you wish for your particular pool and situation.

    I've been using this technique and works great. I haven't used duct tape and was trying to figure out how to water seal the cap. I'll try duct tape or a waterproof tape this summer.

      Hi Nina, Thank you for your comments on my video. I am so happy I could help you enjoy your pool. The other little info I’ve found is if the tablets don’t dissolve fast enough just break them in half and this helps move the water around them better. Thanks again and enjoy that pool.

    Did you have to increase the dial because of the different size tabs? I was at 3 and found that I had to increase the dial to 8 to get enough chlorine into the pool.

    • @Bunkysworkshop
      @Bunkysworkshop  2 года назад +1

      I did eventually increase but be careful so that you don’t over do it with stabilizer ( cyanuric acid ). If this happens this will inhibit your chlorine from working.

    Great video! Thank you, do you have a video or any advice on a "stuck dial" . we are unable to move the dial at all. Our system is 9 years old. Thank you

    What setting do you use on the dial? I didn’t catch if you mentioned it.

      Hi Frank, I would start out on three and go from there. This all depends on the size of your pool and the pump you are using. Please keep track of your cyanuric acid level if using a pool tablets like tri clor pool tablets. If the acid level become to high it will render your chlorine non effective. I hope this help.

    Duct tape fixes everything LOL. We are considering a pool and the pool place recommended the Frog system. My concern was yes they use less Chlorine but the mineral packs are expensive and the chlorine packs are also expensive so while it may be easier it would be more expensive. If the mineral packs last all season the $100 is not bad, but $20 for chlorine per week is.

    • @mattsanders5046
      @mattsanders5046 3 месяца назад

      I chose this year not to buy the mineral pack and just use the old casing from last season to place the modified chlorine pack inside. Works like a charm. Saved the $140 or so that I’d spend on the mineral pack and bought the 3” tabs instead. I got tired of trying to keep the chlorine levels at .5 -1 which never happened anyway because I shock frequently and chlorine levels stayed around 4 to 5 anyway. I’d rather keep chlorine on high side anyway for obvious reasons. Never been an issue with burning or eye irritation for anyone…..peace of mind that my water is safe, no algae etc.

    The chlorine bacs are different now. They have small pellets in them. Can you still refill them like you do in this video? If so, how much to you put in?

    • @Bunkysworkshop
      @Bunkysworkshop  4 года назад +1

      Justin C Hi Justin, The packs do come with the small pellets in them when new. When they run out yes you can refill them with your own chlorine tablets. I can fit about five 3’ tablets in one pack. I have found if you need the tablets to melt a little faster then just break them in half or so for more water flow. Thanks for the great question and if you have any good pictures of your set up please send them on to me. Workshopboy@msn.com

    Curious as to what brand of 3” tabs that you use/ recommend? I know the frog Bac pac says 99% trichlor. I haven’t modified mine yet but want to get a good 3”tablet. Looking forward to saving $$$. Thanks for the video and any advice on the tab brand!

      Hi Matt, The two that I’ve been using are Rx Clear and Nava 3 inch slow dissolving tabs. I hope this helps. 👍

      Great video! Curious as to why you use the 3" tablets instead of smaller tablets similar to what the cartridges ordinarily contain?

      Thanks! I have since modified and have been using a Leslie’s brand of chlorine and it is exactly the same as what’s in the Bac pac! Works great and saving $$$$ 😁

    I just got my pool frog system today. I got the kit which comes with 1 mineral and 2 chlorine bacs. I noticed the chlorine isn’t 3” tablets but little like 1” squares. So with that said, how would 3” tablets effect the performance? I’m sure it has to one way or another.

    • @Bunkysworkshop
      @Bunkysworkshop  4 года назад +1

      poppatello Hello there, When you get the new chlorine pack that are pre packed they do have the small chlorine pellets. When they run our I refill them with the 3’ chlorine tablets. If you find that your not getting enough chlorine in your pool you can break the tablets up and place them in the cartridge. At this point I’m using one pack per week and my pool is 30,000 gallons.

    Do you still use liquid chlorine or pool shock? How about tablets in pool floating around as well? Looks like a nice system.

    • @Bunkysworkshop
      @Bunkysworkshop  4 года назад

      Mike Koehler Hi Mike, I use liquid chlorine for the following situations. If I forget to refill the system and need to get sanitizer back into the pool quickly. I will use liquid chlorine for a shock so when I open my pool for the season I always shock my pool and same thing for when I close my pool. I do not float tablets in a floater because all that I’ve needed has been coming from the Frog leap system. Please know that I run my pool pump 24/7 on low speed so that the water is always being filtered and the sanitizer is always keeping the pool balanced. I have found over the years that this is where people make a mistake is that they think they are saving by turning the pumps off. I found that this will cause more problem later on and thus a need for more chemicals and cleaning. The more the pump runs the less work you will have too do.

      Bunky’s Workshop great thank you for the info. Looking at this system for my pool. Being in central Florida always seem to be chasing the water balance. I agree with running the pool 24/7 as well. I also find it it's eaisier to keep pool going year round. Thank you for the information.

      Joe Butrico Hi Joe, The first year i started with this system i was always chasing my numbers. The pool company said set the settings until you reach the desired chlorine level and leave it alone. I’ve never have had any problems at all. I fill the chlorine pack full once a week and the mineral pack gets replaced one a season and all is good. No worries 😉
