Just a question you might answer for a guy. You've done stuff about going out of business. What's the best way to lose your truck and trailer on taxes? Truck was sold for profit and that's opened the door for taxes. Can I adjust that somewhere or will the guy that bought it end up reporting and come back to me eventually ?
if you depreciated the truck and triler out in the past, you will need to recapture depreciation. YOu should probably get some tax help to be sure you do it right. For instance, if you have them depreciated to $0 and sold them fo $50k you will owe income tax on $50k. NOT capital gains tax. it is ordinary income tax.
