This Vazhkai movie is one of the best movies i watched as a teen, and a often today i use this movie as a base to debate the moral values of then sentiments and today's sentiments. If you watch this movie at 2020 you will ask whats so wrong about an first class A student being educated and living with the in laws, but in the 80's and prior this was taboo. So many good aspects of this movie to praise, along side with monumental actors and actress. I have watched the hindi version but Shivaji Ganesan ayya took his role into orbit which no actor could have... Illayaraja Sir's song and bgm simple marvelous. I cant remember any other movie like this that had no Villans, even though Nambiar Sir acted in it, his role was not a villan role but a shrewd business man. Hats of to Chitra Sir, the original writer and the production team for this movie. One of the best mile stone movies.

I remember I use to be kid when the movie relased and I was Vmuch disappointed When I saw Ambika in place of Sujatha Ma, bcz normally she use to act n both legends would act so we'll. First time I couldn't digest Ambika in that Role, however her dubbing artist n she acted well. Now I have to Appreciate Amitji, Shivaji ji for his broad mind remained example for today Actors.Silk Mam behavior though disgusting happened is happened. Otherwise whole Team done Good job

He made movies to help out many talents such as directors, screenplay writers, actors and did guest roles in more than 20 movies. He donated lot of remuneration by conducting programmes during China war etc., for the government. Even for DMK he made more collections by programs but other people were appreciated and he was sidelined and he eventually left the party. He let people shine without cutting their scenes. Every single Tamil popular actor happily acted in Sivaji movies as a supporting role but otherwise acted as heroes in other movies (SSR, Gemini Ganesan, Muthuraman, AVM Rajan, Jai Sankar, etc.,). There was no cine field person who did not eat in Sivaj house on at least one Sunday. He invited every one to his house. Latha Mangeshkar always visited Sivaji house, when she visited Chennai and had raksha Bandhan celebration, many times with Sivaji Ganesan. Please research before you make a bad comment about someone.
