It might be really great (personally, I think the whole concept is corny). It’s the demo/marketing video that was painfully terrible and terribly painful. It would have been hilarious if it wasn’t so headache inducing.
True dat...and in the end, ALL of the Plugin Alliance stuff I've ever encountered isn't even worth that. Especially since you can get far better tools that do all of that...for free. Might not be all in one VST...but who cares, really?
Basically all the mixing tutorials you see are scams too but theres a guy that just leaked the audio school sauce to mix bass and vocals like hardware, look up alexmadeit thk me later
You know PA heavily discounts all their plugins after the first year, right? There is no reason to ever spend more than $50 on a PA plugin. So the real question should be is it worth up to $50
AJA (All jokes aside), ADPTR/UrsaDSP's HYPE actually gives a hardware analogue sound ITB and a nice K-Stereo imaging. if you mess around with the Compressor section, it has TWO built-in EQ algos of transient and body EQ's which come in handy to dull out clashing hi-hats and let the snare snap through the mix without needing to use something like Eventide's SplitEQ as another plugin to add to the chain unnecessarily. Doing this and turning up the HYPE button to 100%, you can get some very, very interesting audio restoration and/or new stereo imaging you'd never imagine beforehand.
you're doing the lord's work man. nobody got time to keep up with the amount of garbage software being released, thanks for doing it for me so I can just consume a 10 minute video and then go back to making music with stock plugins and not give a shit about the endless consumerism rabbit hole of VSTs

That sounds like stuff that you would find on demos back in the old 80s digital synth age when they would play the corny demos and expect to sell synthesizers that way. I wouldn’t give them $200 for that
The Adobe GENAI sounds like band-in-a-box circa 1998. I'm sure it will get better eventually. And I'm sure we'll start hearing that horror in RUclips videos long before then as well. 🙈
I'm kind of a Plugin Alliance fanboy, but even I was baffled by how gimmick-y this plugin is when I saw the demo on their channel. "Hype" is indeed an appropriate name, because that's all it is.
You may judge this qwerty keyboard with missing printing nailed to a wooden chopping board BUT they did get Keanu Reeves to demo it. @6:10 the Adobe inspiration works here.
About the BLL pricing -- I thought $1000+ is pretty fair. These types of small production instruments cost a lot to put together so it's a pretty understandable price range. (I'm not personally interested in the instrument itself though)
I work with Adobe products on a regular basis, and I have massive doubts about their AI music tools. Image and coding generation? Sure, but Adobe has never done music before and it feels way too corporate for their own good. Unless you're generating corporate ukulele music
1:29 it literally sounds like they took the same midi, pitched it up an octave... removed some notes... and changed the preset. lol. thats *it* and they literally don't even show us the screen but for a split second. 😅😅
well, well, well... Remember only one year ago people laughed about Dall-E and about how horrible those AI-generated pictures looked. Only one year later, artists are worried about their future. You know what that means for us. Don't laugh, AI is coming for you.
Nobody is paying the full price for PA plugins. You play the PA poker and get it for $29. Or maybe a bit more if you're impatient, but never anything close to the full price. The full price is there just for laughs. It's very stupid, but that's how it is.
This got me thinking of how Adobe stole the Photoshop clone stamp tool from another company but just buried them in litigation when they took it to court. Now we’ve got the subscription model, so yeah I’m onboard with Scam-dobe. Although the trick is to have work pay for it all and then install it on a second computer… at home (or so I’m told).
Plug in's are over priced for sure. I'm ok with spending money on a effect pedal but even they are crazy over priced. Funny thing is the buyer sets the market price. thanks for waking the people up.
Yeah, the Elyra feels like it should have been a $200 instrument. It's very simple technology and pretty poor design in terms of both function, ergonomics and playability. Even though it's not built like a guitar I would prefer a Seaboard or Linnstrument over it. Or even better save up a bit more for an Osmose which is just an incredible instrument.
this adobe AI thing is really atrocious. I'm speechless. Is this even a commercial release? My 1999 QY70 does a better job with stock patterns and automatic accompaniment tools.

The whole "scheme" of PA is advertising very high prices for plugins but including them automatically into their main subscription bundles (I am a subscriber). This excellent marketing ploy gives you the impression that your bundle value keeps augmenting just so you don't be tempted to opt out
plugin alliance always does this. its their strategy. Their plugins should not be bought on full price but insted when they are discounted. They use heavy prices to seem like thir is a heavy discount that makes people buy their plugins. Nothing wrong with that i think.
I have to wonder if there is more to the Kodamo thing that meets the eye. The "demo" was terrible to the point of embarrassing. Their FM synth is pretty well-liked, though. The new thing sort of reminds me of a Linnstrument with other controls on it.
The Adobe thing doesn’t look like it’s aimed at actual musicians or music producers, it looks like it’s aimed at cheap “content creators” that don’t want to pay real musicians or producers to make the intro music for their videos.
