On the other hand, many people got outdoors more than ever in 2020 - that was where we could be distanced and safe and healthy. As birders, our passion takes us to many places where there are very few people. When I spend a full day in the field I rarely encounter another person. Get back out there with the birds!
Thank you for your update. Oddly enough, it was this situation with lockdowns, etc that got me back into birding. I started out just going for walks around my neighbourhood and began identifying birds that I knew. Now I'm fully back into birding and really enjoy seeking out species I've never identified before using Merlin/eBird. Thanks for sharing and looking forward to more videos!
It's interesting you were locked down and I spent this summer here in Alaska alone in the woods and just discovered birding. The walks in the woods have helped my health and my photography. In 4 months of birding I racked up 20 species captured. Looking forward to your channel growing.
I’m happy to see y’all back and I will be looking forward to seeing more videos. I was walking my lab yesterday morning and I got to see 23 hawks flying all together with their wings spread out catching the thermals just soaring I was just stunned to see that many at the same time. Thanks for sharing, enjoy and have a Great week !!! Danny
Good to see you back. I've been lucky as I do most of my bird videos in my local park and have continued my filming. But it was a little difficult at first because of the high police presence in the park.
I just found your channel today. I am like some others on here in that the pandemic actually took my birding off as I started birding as much as possible (in spurts). Mostly solo and not as exciting in terms of bird events. Hope you guys are still keeping well & that you can get outdoors often :)
Welcome back! Glad you are both staying well and I am certainly looking forward to more great videos. As a birder and photographer from Central Ontario your videos are of particular interest to me. Thanks.
This year I bought sunflower chip for the 1st time and we attracted the neighborhood small birds to the window right in front of our couch. oh what a covid year it was. don't worry.
Sounds like you really did miss out. Here in Australia its been pretty much birding as usual . Provided we maintained 2m between watchers on organised trips group outings have been ongoing. I wonder if your vlog direction could include "how too" as you tend to be more mobile birders rather than fixed/hide birders. I know wandering the bush can reveal birds but effectively only if you run into a mixed flock moving through the bush or stumble on nesting areas. I'm an Olympus shooter; M1X and 300mm f4 + MC14 (though this will change to the 150-400mm f4.5 when it hits the stores). Number of species on outings has now given way to getting better images of species. I'm at 216 species in Australia. Getting more will need far more travel as I have nearly expended all species in my local area.
Its funny because i have been looking for a nice nitrogen set. My old Nikon fogs up and its getting colder. 10x50 for astro and birding. Telescopes , cameras , astro , birding , hiking around Ontario. What ever. Maybe even canoeing.
Us Astronomy nuts have always known you are still around😉
Ha you now to!
Miss you guys. Hope you will be back to your bird nerd videos soon.
