One thing he forgot to mention is doomfists passive.
Everytime doomfist does damage with his fist (punch, uppercut, slam, ultimate) He gains a temporary shield that slowly starts to drain away. This can potentially double his health.

Most people probably don’t expect Doomfist to be that hard, since he can One shot the majority of the Roster, but the true difficulty of playing Doomfist well lies in the Skill of not feeding.

6:38 i heard (not 100% sure) that doomfist was actually a tank in devolpment but his abilities were to aggressive and too fast for a tank so they changed him into a dps (again not 100% sure)

Makes sense for how his Design Looks like. I would imagine a Tank possesing doomfists Design and it would work more for him, than a dps.

It's not dead though.
What I mean by dead game is that the developers have stopped making updates. The community still plays the game, but overall it’s been done with updates now that Overwatch 2 is coming out

3:54 remember to shoot as you uppercut for the extra damage, infact do it before pretty much anything, also i reccomend learning to turn punch after said combo to break LOS easier

I have never been so starved of content, first it’s titanfall then hollow knight and now overwatch………….bro
I learned doom a couple months ago, and while at the time of watching this video I already know all of this stuff and more, this is still well put together. Learning how to not feed can be hard, but once you've figured it out, and figured out how to properly execute combos and some actually useful rollouts, you can be a carry. The one-shotting and shields he gives can make him surprisingly hard to kill. Once you've really learned the basics you definitely should work on not only doom parkour but a few of his more obscure techs as well
look how they massacred my boy. he went from one shotting with his punch to it doing the same as a normal melee
Man i miss old Doomfist. And Overwatch 1 in general really, i actually felt like a finished game

Yes, I am one of the people who don't play Overwatch anymore but still watch this video. Macro's videos brought me into Overwatch about three years ago, but I stopped playing it about half a year ago. However, I still enjoy watching Overwatch videos.

Yes I knew I was not crazy When. Knew it was missing
As someone who has Doomfist has her fourth most played, with both achievs and gold gun, there is something you need to understand with doomfist:
1. If you play effectively the enemy team will do everything to throw every CC at you so you might as well just switch characters
2. Dont use uppercut to get more time for the slam, it actually make tge animation start later and you will do less damage
3. Dont get cocky, if you manage to flank and kill one support dont attempt to get more kills unless your team is backing you up
4. When you are winning as Doomfist, is great! When you are losing, ugh. Its not impossible, but if the match starts off wrong you will have a very hard time the rest of the game
5. Maps with a ton of corners like Kings Row, Lijang Tower and... *Paris* are great opportunities for you to get easy rocket punch one shots. Just wait until your team engages the enemy and use said corners to ambush your unexpected prey
You know this makes me want to play the game again cause I was young back the and I didn't have a full understanding of how I should play these characters thanks macro
Other than mechanics, what makes a good Doom good is positioning + timing.
Diving in you'll really only be effective if you watch out for enemy abilities (sleep & flash) and if you get good picks (taking out support).
High mobilty, great skill ceiling, and burst damage, what more can you want
Range damage i guess, but nah i like passive shields more

Anyone that says doomfist needs buffs has not played this game in years(which I don't blame them) i am glad we got one last macro ow1 vid. Thanks for still giving us dead game players some content even though you TOTALLY didn't have to. I really love and appreciate the content no matter the game.
Genuine question how does he not need buffs because at this point he and genji are up there for the worst dps at the moment and honestly besides his ult doom could be great if some characters got a nerf such as cassidy and the same gors for genji
@@zethrem9937 okay I'm actually really glad you asked- The sheer fact that doomfist can engage onto the enemy team punch then uppercut a hero then gain SHIELDS is busted. I totally agree he's not in a great spot but then again you have to look at the meta. The meta effects what heroes are good and bad and right now flankers aren't the meta, generally nano monkey and main tank off tank are what are being run in the OWL and top 500. I think the only problem with your statement is that with the practice and understanding of the hero, doomfist is by FAR one of if not the most OP dps if you know how to play him. Also, Cassidy is (this is not a shiv at cas mains okay LOL) a veerrrry braindead dps hero... genji and doom have different roles as flankers where as cas is more of a rush and anti dive hero. It also takes skill to play doomfist, and you have to take into consideration that doom is being reworked in OW2 so that's enough evidence right there that's he's busted. His kit is full CC. I do agree with a little bit of what your saying but doom in general has gotten soooo many nerfs because of how busted he is, and even now when he's not being played whenever he was run in the meta with the current nerfs, he was still busted.
@@FrankieFan2005 i mostly agree besides the fact that he is busted sure he can punch into the enemy team but after diamond that simply wont work teams will adjust to doomfist and also diom hasnt gotten nerfs because he is broken he has gotten reworks to try and be a dps when he simply doesnt fit
@@zethrem9937 actually not really. NUMEROUS streamers such as Branditio, Samito, GetQuakedOn, etc get TONS of value out of doom in top 500, and once again this isn't a shiv at diamond players but they wouldn't be in diamond if they knew how to play doomfist hahah.
@@zethrem9937 Also they are making him into a tank Aaron Keller literally released that information and the blizzard team is kinda showing forums as to why and how they're reworking heroes with CC. You should check it out
