  • Hi, I’m Dana and I have been a pediatric physical therapist for 25 years. You can read more about my practice at the top of my channel. I see kids for a lot of different disabilities including developmental delay, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, genetic disorders, dystrophies, and more. I cannot give individualized medical advice on social media and you need your doctors permission to try any exercises with your child. A therapist needs to be trained in order to perform these highly skilled exercises.
    I see kids for intensives in Cary, North Carolina for 1,2, or 3 weeks for 2 visits per day. We are able to show a lot of progress with our little patients and I share that to bring hope to other parents around the world. You can find booking information at the link at the top of my channel.
    The exercises I use are based on Cueves Medek Exercises. We give novel experiences to kids to work on neuroplasticity of the brain which allows us to improve gross motor skills.
    Take a look at an entire visit at AKAP as we work with this sweet pea on walking. All of my exercises can be found on my highlights section of Instagram.

    Building the path from the brain to the muscles 💪 is not a thinking process but repeatedly/consistently doing it & that is the same for older ppl.
    Stand up sit / stand up sit. It is hard & painful but worth it 👌 ✨️ ❤️

    Euer sensibler Umgang mit den Kindern, die Wahrung des Kindsinteresse und der motivierende, sanfte Druck das Mädchen dazu zu bewegen über sich hinauszuwachsen ist unfassbar schön zu sehen. Danke für diesen Einblick.
    Gerade bei Minute elf, das Versprechen sie zu halten, die Berührung, der Körperkontakt und die Stimme, um ihr Mut zu machen, da steckt soviel Wertschätzung und Leidenschaft drin. Die Arbeit von euch ist herausragend und lebensverändernd, was ihr natürlich nur selbst zu gut wisst. Ich bin unfassbar beeindruckt und einfach glücklich, über diese Chancen die ihr den Kindern gebt. Alles Gute für eure Arbeit und Grüße aus Deutschland.

    why do most of the children cry? Does the physical therapy hurt?

    • @kathyflorcruz552
      @kathyflorcruz552 26 дней назад +1

      They're children unaccustomed to the new things they're doing. Naturally crying is their way of protesting. They aren't in pain it's just new to them. If you watch more videos you see the children get more calm & happy as they accomplish more.

    I am unable to like any videos, the thumbs up doesn't work! Actually I was able to like one short video. When I hit subscribe, it said your subscription was added but the button never changed and the bell didn't show. ??

    Can you explain why the boxes wobble?

    • @kathyflorcruz552
      @kathyflorcruz552 26 дней назад

      It's to get the child to react by reflex to find balance & to strengthen their muscles & get them used to feeling this new way of life.

    • @bridgwll
      @bridgwll 16 дней назад

      There was a piece of wood underneath to make them wobble.

    Hi ladies! Maybe try just turning her around to go back in the opposite direction; whatever draws her to keep looking back, might draw her to walk through to something???❤
