I listened to books on tape all the time beforw the library switched to CDs. I preferred the nostalgia of the cassette tapes. 😂

Dnrs with the good memories etc removed the pain I used to have and it helps the depression though I'm still definitely greatly affected. Good positive thinking!! Actually dextroamphetamine helps me the most. I have adhd

@bdwdreamweaver yes in my big ones I get like cold achy metal feeling behind d my left knee and arch of left foot. Mostly weakness and tingling. On a full episode once I went numb from toes to throat on my left side. Rushed to Er to rule out stroke. So odd. I could see them touch,, poke and such but felt nothing on one side. I could turn my head and blink but no words. About 3 hours slowly I started feeling toes and up the leg and then suddenly my thoughts came out of my mouth as words. 5 hour's later walking and home to recover.

I used to get migraines, but they stopped after menopause. I hope yours do, too, when you get there.

I had the full hysterectomy for trouble issues, and hopes it would lesson migraines. It didn’t stop them but it did stop the wild quick swings of hormones that would produce crazy sharp and painful migraines.

Oh my goodness this sounds like what is happening to me .Since November I have leg weakness.I ended up in emergency the other day because I thought I was having a stroke. The CT scan showed no stroke the neurologist is thinking migraines are making me faint but wasn’t sure what’s going on with my legs especially left. Now I’m really wondering if it’s this.I am sorry it’s not fun😢I am glad I saw this

OH Dear it is so scary going to the ER when this happens. I for years never got the pain, but I would pass out and be so jumbled in my words and emotions and it was so odd. I do hope you find a great doctor to work with. I have seen 4 Neurologist. and they hate to put in your file, "officially" hemiplegic migraines. so Be warned they will most likely call it Complex Migraines. with or without auras. But if the doctor doesn't know much about HM then try to gently educate him/her or find a new doctor. What country are you in? There are some great resources for information. are you on Facebook, I am in a few groups of Hemiplegic Groups. It is nice to know you are not alone. Keep in touch dear. Try not to live in fear of the "next one" it will cripple you from enjoying life. I suggest a medical ID bracelet. I love the ones at Road ID a website for engraving bands for runners. bikers, or whomever wants to wear an identification. Peace to you. Educate, and don't fear. But do reach out to others for help when you are weak, scared and need someone to talk it all out with. Peace to you.

I remember the first time my balance went. I was driving home from work sitting at a red light. It felt as tough all 4 tires went flat at the same time. I had no idea what to do. Then everything started to spin like a child's top.

Hemiplegic swings in an our out of my life at odd times. I can't ever predict when it will show up. My other migraines dominate most days. But yes with HM, it s a mix of panic attack, heart rate change, Brain signals all off. My left leg and arm will feel heavy and some times drag, other times im frozen stiff unable to move unless someone lifts that led. for my daily fibromyalgia pains I take Celebrex and Flexxeral. When the migraine head pain ramps up I take Nurtec, then Ketoralac, and I have a nasal spray that is is in opid family and I haven't needed yet for when it wont break in pain levels. I try to lesson the neck tightness with creams, cbd creams, ice packs and heat packs and valium to relax .

My head hurts on the right side. Same area as yours. But I’ve had 2 episodes of Hemiplegic symptoms on my Left side. 2 days apart from each other and I’m scared. I feel alone. I haven’t been able to go to the doctor because we just had a Hurricane go through Louisiana. I really don’t know what to do. It’s difficult to explain what’s going on, especially when I don’t know either. Any help or advice you can give me would be great. I’m 44 years old. I don’t have a history with migraines.

Bless you dear. Make an appointment with your doctors. And as you wait it out do what you can to relax. Have you tried over the counter things that you know are safe for you to take? Tylenol, Advil? It is scary when you have unknowns. If you think you need to go to ER during an attack, that is your judgment call. But with out a diagnoses they may just treat you like a bad “headache” and not really do much. If you had stroke symptoms at time of arrival they may do ct scans. My suggestions are trying to educate yourself, calm your nervous system and use ice or heat and hydrate with water and any electrolyte you can. Some of our attacks come when under stress, poor eating for the week, alcohol consumption, and not enough hydration. If you have Facebook, join the michelles life on repeat group and we can chat more and I can direct you to some resources and other support groups. You are not alone. Even though they are scary, they do pass. Praying for you as I type.
