The best way to do to own house here in the Philippines are to buy a land property, and build your own house .in the province the cost of land are not so high and you can choose beautiful view etc...and you can do whatever tou want.bcoz most of the foreigners here owned their land
The two homes featured here were obviously refurbnished by the owners rather organically. Yes, the single detached rental housing market is tight. Most rentals are apartments or condominiums. Most single detached homes are new and for sale. These are almost all out of town too, like Pavia, San Miguel, Oton and Leganes. The place you visited near a hospital in Jaro in a previous video is actually a short walk from the main bus terminal heading north to Boracay. Numerous city bus slash jeepney routes start from that terminal too.
You'll definitely score a nice spot for $400. I found a 3 bed, 3 bath, full roof deck with gated Parking in Taguig near McKinley Hills. It took like 4 months of hitting the bricks like you guys are doing - But if I can land a deal here, you can definitely hook one there.
I'm sorry, Michael, about the first house, the ceiling is too low for you. Also being too close in proximity to your landlords is not really a good thing. Also the second one 's toilet without a faucet on the sink and a shower? Honestly? Forget it! I'm sure you can find better places. I'll pray for both of you!
If it would be just the thing with the toilet and the shower, that would be fixable for a small amount as all is there, just not connected. But yea, if you have some time, look around a bit more.
just get a monthly rate at a hotel and take your time to find the best place. I stayed at a hotel for 20k php in Dumaguete for a month until i found my beachfront home.
Maybe, best thing get a realtor for you guys to find easier and more choices good luck and for sure you can find a new house to rent love your vlog you guys are amazing ❤
Hey there :D I live here in iloilo and i just found your channel. Im also looking for my own appartment and this really helps, ill be checking around if there's one that suits my taste. Thanks for the content my man😁
Still haven't figured out How you chose Iloilo as your Homebase ?? There's plenty of other places where you can definitely afford a nice Western style home and services.. 🎉
It looks nice! I mean the first one. I hope you'll be comfortably lives in your new place to be. Good luck! Also, they offered you a very good price for the rent! I think it is a very friendly price. 😎👌
Now Michael if you were 5ft like me, you would have no issues with showers. Might struggle reaching high shelves but it's a balance 😂😅 Keep looking and be patient, I'm sure John & his family want u to find a great place so don't jump into somewhere too quick. The right place is there just waiting to be found I'm sure. The Sheridan place looks very nice - another hidden gem discovered. Good hunting to u both - sending lots of good luck 😊 xxx
Have you looked into some High Rise Condo blocks. They are $500/month, but are really lavish from what you are looking. Pool, Weight Room, Spa, Local Malls...has everything.
adding atleast 1 count on your subscribers and not skipping ads. its the least i can do for you guys im sorry for what happen to you with your previous house and the place owner. hope i made a little help with you
Get a house not too far from the main road. Coz most of the businesses are on the main/major roads. Likewise, when buying something, food or anything to commute going to stores won't be a big issue. Consider also somehow near to public market.
Greetings guys! I’m from Guam, u s territory to your east about 4 hours. I too like you guys will be leaving Guam, (retired) towards end of this year. Therefore, I was wondering what part of the Philippines have you chosen to set up camp, I’m assuming you’re not there forever? But have enjoyed your vids and believe they have been helpful with things to think about when that time comes. Thank you, Your neighbor to the east Guam
Alas there seem to be many rough houses for rent …. How about a condo unit within a new large condo from some company like Megaworld or SMDC? I feel unless you get lucky…. Renting a unit in a house could be a big challenge…. Thanks Mark Euringer
They usually use poor quality of faucets, in the shower washbasins and lavatory etc. I say this as per my experiiencebinmy house hunting and during my renting. It was a new apartment. but in a matterbof three days. The shower head telephone type was damage.
Just my opinion but you are both young, you should be moving back to Canada and securing your future and consider moving to the Philippines when you are older and are able to buy or build your own home ..Renting doesn't get you anywhere,as you would know...just my opinion
Baguio is expensive and always rainy, but overall a nice city. I would say La Union because it has some nice apartments/houses for a cheaper price, and also its safe from typhoons etc.
You guys should add some protections for yourselves in the next lease because the leases here in the Philippines favor the landlord far too much. I was staying at an Airbnb that I really liked and wanted to extend my stay with a 6 month lease but I made sure to add protections for myself after the landlord didn’t seem interested in replacing the broken water heater. So after telling them I would no longer be giving them 6 months in advance, and making amendments to the proposed lease, the water heater replaced within a few days. What I added was: The lessee will notify the lessor of any issues with the property and if the lessor does not resolve those issues within 30 days then the lessee has the right to terminate the lease and the lessor will immediately return all deposits. The 30 day clock starts at the moment of notification. In the event that an issue arises that isn’t within the lessors control, like natural events or pests (I’m in a condo so roaches are a concern), the lessee has the right to terminate the contract after 30 days if the issue isn’t resolved with the immediate return of half the deposit. I didn’t think it was fair that the lessor be punished for natural events so I only required half the deposit. Just make sure the lease is fair to both parties. I also made clear that the landlord is responsible for all repairs and replacement of items that come with the property, as long as those damages aren’t at the fault of the lessee.
@@johncruz7895 I’m a set it and forget it kinda guy and when I negotiated a price that was less than 6 months of a single month of living in the US I didn’t see it as a problem. It was $365 a month inclusive of electric, water, dues and Wi-Fi which I still got after amending the lease. It was a really nice resort style condo in Manila so I got a little too excited over the deal, but luckily I came to my senses before signing the lease.
Oh my so sorry you hot a hard time looking tor a place i couldnt offer mine because it needs repair and takes a while hope you can get one if its 400 dollars might as well look for a condo
nice place but the ceilings are WAY low, that open wall to the stockroom is not good, and the fact tht you gain access to the CR by going thru the bedrooms...not so good.
Go to mandaluyong, we have condo there and it’s in good location. We can give you a deal , I don’t intentionally trying to rent it out but you guys are looking trustworthy renters. Is it fully furnished and renovated
The ceiling is too low and I don't understand these people, they're renting out their place yet don't even bother clearing out their stuff and cleaning the place to make it look presentable. Also I don't know why it's not a priority for Filipinos to invest in nice beds. The beds always have thin cheap mattresses that are just rolled up hence it's like they won't even appeal to you. It is not a priority too to have toilet seats. It is so uncomfortable to sit on a toilet without any seat.
Be patient finding a place that place sucks, you just stayed at your freinds it's not even close to overstating if you think that their not your freinds
Hi guys! Dont give up! Just a suggestion. Why dont you move to another nearby provinces to give u more options. What about thinking to move in manila or makati. Gazillion choices of condominium residences own by SMDC within your $300 to 400 monthly budget for rent. Plus will give you more ideas for your future vlog content. Just another idea.
Sheridan is indeed a secret place. Only true locals know that place. Try to look appartments more in arevalo area like sto.domingo and sta.cruz near mohon terminal.
I could not get my heads wrap around the fact that you guys are looking for a big house worth 400 dollars/ month! I mean,do you really need a big house? There are just two of you guys and you dont have tgst many furnitures.10k/ month is already a big house for you guys. It’s tempting to flip houses in the Philippines. So many houses need renovation. Then sell it at a profit

I would rather stay in the taller building beside the smaller house. Top floor for me for sure, the balcony is awesome. It looks newer and cleaner.
lovely bali theme resort.
Here in Pampanga you can find renting house.
They are very nice
Go with the renovated house. Cleaner, less bugs, maybe they even got the electrical circuits right 🙃
And, also the neighborhood looks good.
Man i hope you guys find a house soon. Its' the Philippines, so everyone will try to help no doubt on that. God bless
Davina wasn’t there for the Santa Cruzan cruisin’, (luv that phrasing btw)….So she missed the sweetie pie princess astride the UNICORN!

Villa Arevalo is really a good area as it doesn't flood as much as other areas
Iloilo has so many beautiful places which is just a stone away n not to expensive.
KEEP SEARCHING YOU WILL FIND ONE !
Reminds me of Ted Nugent's "Cat Scratch Fever".. Looks like a NO GO Zone to me Bro.. You just left 1 rental trap.. No need jumping into another.
Try to ask your friends in Iloilo for available house to rent.
I hope someday, future homeowners do the architectural standard ceiling heights, bathroom and kitchen especially Philippines is a tropical country.
Thats hard for them coz extra foot will definitely cost more..
I suggest you go to Bacolod City, there are lots of houses to chose from.
look for a rental house with own electric and water meter and not submeters coz usually landlords add more than what you expect to pay for the bills.

No hood fan for stove that is so weird compared to canada it's fire hazard here
