Better find a condo with 2 bedrooms or Ask your Filipino friend to contact the owner of the house and ask how much the rent before you show up in their place because if they see you that you are foreigner they make the rent more higher.
I hope you guys have good news to share. I remember I was a year homeless couch surfing in Massachusetts before I moved to Florida. I had pretty much no choice to move because everywhere I had to stay I had stayed until people got fed up. I even had to go through cervical cancer removal and heal- the doc knew my situation and wouldn't do a procedure if I didn't have somewhere sanitary and safe to stay, so my long time friend helped me out as long as he could. But at least I didn't have to let my health be compromised due to my living status. That was about 5 years ago and I'm cancer free, it still could come back but I'm glad I'm cancer free right now.
@Khelisie Salvatore we are happy you are 5 years well, too! That is usually the golden number, God bless you, K, you made it, though it is difficult to hear what a stressful path you had. Everyone deserves love & support when fighting cancer. I’m glad you had wonderful friends, & were never living in your car or on the street. But I know (from long ago personal experience) that whatever “level” homelessness is always awful.
I would go to the local bank and see if they have any houses that are empty that people foreclosed on that they might want to rent out. That’s how we found a place up in Pangasinan we rented directly from PNB bank.
That fully furnished house was very nice. Hope the owner decides to take your offer. My wife and I feel completely embarassed showing that unfinished apartment to you guys, but that is what I complained about in one of your other videos. You tell people what you want and it seems like they don't hear you and say "no problem" then they show you something completely opposite of what you want. I tell them at least 2 bedrooms and fully furnished and they show us a 2 room ( literally only 2 rooms) and instead of furnished it is unfinished. Absolutely amazing. Anyway hopefully you get that fully furnished house. It looks amazing.
Negotiate for a one month deposit and one month advance. And include a termination clause on the lease contract for when the owner does not respond to your complaints on the place. After all, you're paying big money. Best of luck!
Hey hey hey...i know your driver .(Won't name names for privacy..just kidding) Hahaha that's my bff! Wow, was blown away when I found out you know each other. We were just together with our college classmates for a reunion this past weekend in Kalibo!!! 😍 Small world, eh? ❤ Hope to meet you one of these days.❤❤❤
Mike, I posted a comment below that we have a three bedroom house with solar to rent , if you are interested. I forgot to mention, the house near mahon terminal. Cheers
Welcome to the Philippines and I am so Happy to see our fellow countrymen and fellow Canadians enjoying the Philippines! Foods and Beautiful islands! I love your Blogs.Stay Happy,GodBless,Stay Safe Both of you!
Hello .... nice house searching and best know the place if it is safe, check for bug infestation, is the area prone to floods, is the wall paints safe from the element mercury, check the wirings, electric meters, the molds and ceilings for roaches. You have to deal with all this. Best of luck!
Keep searching! It looks like some of the houses are getting to be better. Unfortunately, it looks like you may have to be willing to pay a higher deposit or rent to get what you want. Too bad you couldn't write a lease that allows you to get out of the contract and return your deposit early if the renter fails to do required maintenace and/or rodent/insect remediation.
It's not that I want to discourage you from renting this house but if you think grills on the windows will stop burglars from breaking in your house, all they need is a car jack to bust open those grills. I know because that's exactly what the burglars used to break into our house when we were still living in the Philippines. The fact that you often leave for days to visit other parts of the Philippines and post it on RUclips, that would give burglars the opportunity to know when they can break into your house. I understand you're on a budget and you can only choose what is within your budget. Since this house is not in a gated community, it would be best if you can hire house sitters to stay at your house when you're away. Security cameras don't stop burglars.
That last place was pretty good. All one level and solid concrete would be pretty cool inside. 2 level houses are so hot upstairs. The house looked very dirty inside and the plumbing needs a few fixes. Nice to have hot water though. I reckon for the amount of space in it, would be worth it. Go hard on the landlord to get it presentable and cleaned first.
Look at the condition of the roads!...Most lower scale subdivisions in the provinces have roads that deteriorate easily even with less vehicle traffic...it's all because of cost saving. Concrete mixes are below standard.
Hi bianca and michael. U have been in my place😊. That lake u said is an wxisting lagoon since the 90's and was improve latetly. Filled with lots of koi fish and a big waterfall in the corner. Lapaz plaza is the biggest plaza in the city and even in the whole province. It has tennis court, football field basketball court & more amenities in the future. Keep safe as u hunt guys!❤️💙
Something I noticed when renting an apartment in Spain was the lack of electrical outlets. Being from the US, I was accustomed to two outlets on almost every wall, my European apartment had one outlet per room. After that, I counted outlets whenever I was looking for an apartment. What are the Philippines like? Are there enough outlets for computers, monitors, chargers, etc...? Do you need transformers or are they 120v / 60Hz?
It's 220V in the Philippines. Outlets are never an issue. People don't even think of them when looking for a house because outlets are everywhere. I counted the outlets in our bedrooms and they have 4 outlets per room. Well, there are only two places with outlets in a room but there are 2 outlets in each place so 4 outlets total in a room. Our sala has 12 outlets. I didn't know that.
@@wavemaker2077 im watching their newly uploaded vlog. They found one already. It's one of the houses they've looked which was in their previous vlog. ☺️
Better test the quality of water and try to visit it on a rainy day if there are roofs leaking, check if they have a generator outlet in case power interruption strikes
I think the price of the first house was too high. Also requiring 3 months deposit is ridiculous. What pets do you have? I’m Canadian with cats and am researching moving to the PHs.
Just be careful of the Commissioners (people that gets a commission) that jack up the rent so they would get a high share . It's advisable that you deal directly with the owner & not go thru the brocker/commissioner.
Couple of nice houses in this selection but keep ur chins up and your perfect place will be found soon. Maybe that will tomorrows good news? I hope so ♡♡♡
I’m only to the time in the video with appearance of NEB! Yay! But already giving my two cents that despite the first potential disappointment, it may have been more noisy than usual so close to the barangay hall. & Michael was correct imo that the window set up would allow air con flow out, though it is a pleasant appearing set up for windows, not too practical if one needs/prefers air con & for the mosquito sceeening due to DB’s skeeter sensitivity. I am suffering currently with that, terrible season in US, one of worst mosquito seasons per DNR. I’m like D, the bite stays red, inflamed & itchy for like a week! Or more. Then for me I get left with a scar. It’s no joke. But to screen all those windows would be kinda a hassle, so that’s for the best. Disappointing though, that first rental looked so new.

That second house is like a prison with the very high concrete wall around the house and no greens. The last house looks really outdated but the front yard has a lot of potential for plants or pond or both. I think it needs an entire paint job and storing all furniture's on one room that are outdated or not needed
OMG, I get sick when I hear the prices for a house, and that too without furniture. These are all overpriced prices for foreigners. Had the same problem, my neighbors only paid half of what I had to pay. But I find out this until 6 months later. :-) My Filipino wife then looked for the next house on her own and lo and behold, we paid the same price as everyone else.
Yes, it is a bit high ( 22k / mo. ) Rental there is supposed to be 12- 15k . And the jalousies window is not safe. Tha bar could be bended easily. Just a personal opinion, better rent a condo or airbnb . Its cheaper and Mike & Bianca are always out .
Try looking in Ledesco Village, Puerto Real Subdivision, or Don Francisco Village.. You may also want to try looking in Gran Plains Subdivision or Alta Tierra Village
Those windows, put those rubber or silicone tubes on the long edges to create a seal. there are also felt strips you can use to put on the edges to create a seal.
or they could use a blackout curtain. i could never sleep in a room where a bright light is present even the light coming through the blinds. blackout curtain solve this problem for me and also provided an insane amount of insulation. i put my hand just behind it and feel the intense heat from the sun during summer and the side facing the room is completely cool even with the ac still off.

Question: can these restaurants make scrambled eggs? I haven't seen that option anywhere yet. I also really like the house with the two covered porch/balcony areas--great for enjoying some coffee every morning or when it's raining outside.
dont be too choosy in getting a house its gonna be very hard as long as its good enough with low cost and bills you will be happy long term! lower your expectations
The second house has better view than the first one(that house infront of the first house like it will disintegrate with high winds). I feel like housing workmanship in the Philippines is poor, the edges are not smooth, details are not smooth.
why don't you look for a newly constructed townhouse or apartment for rent within the subdivision, fully furnished and with security. There are many here in Manila. Maybe there is also a "for rent townhouse" in the province.
Hey man, try looking at the homes in the St. Paul Village near that place. I heard there's a home for rent that is at $14k that is pretty nice as well.
Philippine expenses has became expensive ever since, to survive your expenses you can have an online selling other than vlogging, you can sell some stuff like hobby things, t-shirt, garments...for collectibles you can check some stuff in greenhills San Juan so you'll get an idea..you can't survive by just vlogging since there are other established foreign vloggers in the Philippines
You don't even know how much they earn from vlogging. Kulas is just vlogging and he earns a lot. Even Mike and Nelly and George and Lucy were able to buy condo units in McKinley and buy their SUVs by just vlogging.
hang in there, you'll find that perfect place. what's hard is finding a pet friendly place. It seems water pressure is a problem for most of the showers. finding a furnished place is somewhat hard to find it seems.
I’m Canadian and have my own cats. Is it difficult to find a house that allows cats? I was wondering what you meant by being hard to find a pet friendly place?
You should buy a lot to own so you don't have to rental house mostly all lot properties are cheaper than renting a full house you could buy a lot then build a house and homestead unless you're not planning to stay permanently
all the concrete block construction; I assume that is due to termite infestations? 22k unfurnished, strikes me as high. Maybe 22k WITH a full size fridge, stove/oven, and water heater in the shower thrown into the rental deal. 20k w/o them. I cant help but cringe at the wiring job on the pole. Needs heaters in the showers. If you can get it at 25k, that should be good.
those jalousie windows are the best for through ventilation but you will need to install insect screens internally ....has the roof been insulated? you could just install polycarbonate screens internally on some windows to make them insulated but that means you cannot open them.
Jalousie windows are old school and are worst for insulation in you have air conditioning unit. More cold air will escape into the cracks. The best are those pre made upvc windows with slide openings and screens built in. Double pane is the best if you can afford it.
It beggars belief that the roads are neglected in a lot of subdivisions in the Philippines. The roads are bumpy and there are a lot of potholes everywhere. They need to pay attention to the streets as well.
Checks for termites, put a clause in the contract, check the police station, if there's too much crime in that area or check PNB bank , Foreclausures properties if there's for rent those defaulted in their mortgage payment!!!
5000 pesos per month for electricity is quite dear compared to our electric bill in mindoro 3000 pesos per month maximum even with aircon running allday and the lowest at less than 1000 pesos per month sounds to me that iloilo is very expensive in rent and electricity
If you want to know about more houses on rent, you should ask a local barber or local store owner, they know everything and every activity about the neighborhood
The owner of the 2nd house should have cleaned the house first before showing it to the possible renters. I am also a landlord and I would always clean my flat before having people see it. It is not even that old yet but it could have been more maintained. The 3rd one is really dated and it is not nice to have a toilet just near the dining room that even has an open door. It's quite disgusting when you can smell something foul when you are eating. It seems quite hard to find a nice place. Why don't you guys just rent a condo ? It's more new, it's cleaner and very convenient as it's near everything plus better for a couple without kids
Iloilo is really a nice city but it really does lack western style housing amenities, condos are quite small, and the related utilities are like commercial rates compared to single family residential housing.
Yep and so overpriced. Your 25k in Dumaguete or Bacong is a beach house, 2-3 bedrooms, Western style housing amenities, huge lawns, luxurious furniture etc
I wld sugg just get a fully furnished apartment. It's a headache if u hv to shop for Yr own furnishings and you never know you might move into another hse and another headache taking yr furniture's, appliances to another hse...again...
The windows are old timey type. Not only will you need to worry about loss of air conditioned air through the multiple cracks in the windows, but those are really hard to clean in terms of time required … have to clean each small pane, top and bottom.
There are diy ways to seal the window panes, but will need a mossie screen on the outside. narrow strips of foam or felt or silicone/rubber tubes, to create a seal
Two of my high school acquaintances met each other years after graduation. Upon one meeting the others now homely wife, he said to his friend, “if I didn’t see it, I wouldn’t believe it”. This is what I think of when seeing what you’re looking at there. Those dwellings are so hideous and ugly, not to mention the awful surroundings. I’d be so embarrassed to invite my western friends or family to visit me in one of those holes. They’d think I’d fallen so far and low in life that im forced to live in a ghetto surrounded by rural poverty. Those dilapidated cement coffins aren’t worth a quarter of what they’re asking for. Run guys. Find something pleasant and at least half civilized around Manila

You can place curtains that will cover windows so AC will be saved I think you are only at the back if our subdivision mind trying condos?
My cousin family lives in Augustine Grove 😮my daughter graduated in San Agustin Basic education department, the school nearby to Augustine grove❤
Question: can these restaurants make scrambled eggs? I haven't seen that option anywhere yet. I also really like the house with the two covered porch/balcony areas--great for enjoying some coffee every morning or when it's raining outside.
You can ask for scrambled eggs yes :)
Look at the roads if it's in bad condition then its a flood prone area. Rainy and stormy season is coming.
Good 👍 👍 👍 for you two! Enjoy your new place. 😊 Time to get a new motorcycle or a small SUV mike and Bianca.
Hi Sir Biboy! 👋
Nice house sayang wala sila nadayun
dont be too choosy in getting a house its gonna be very hard as long as its good enough with low cost and bills you will be happy long term! lower your expectations
2 years
The second house has better view than the first one(that house infront of the first house like it will disintegrate with high winds). I feel like housing workmanship in the Philippines is poor, the edges are not smooth, details are not smooth.
Shout out from Beppin San music lounge Jeff the marketing staff...
Good to have the Brgy captain as land lord... it opens up a lot of "doors" into the brgy. :)
But sometimes there's a negative side of having a Brgy Captain as your Landlord just saying
True if he says "this is normal" then you are stuck in that position as he has the say in that area
@@BiancaBeyond never get involved w/ somebody who has the power to run the "show"
why don't you look for a newly constructed townhouse or apartment for rent within the subdivision, fully furnished and with security. There are many here in Manila. Maybe there is also a "for rent townhouse" in the province.
i am planning to retire in the philippines so our house hunting is really helpful
Brgy. Housing in Mandurriao is so accessible to the city, megaworld hospital, airport, malls, Pavia.
Get a condo instead .much modern .a good investment too
You should buy a lot to own so you don't have to rental house mostly all lot properties are cheaper than renting a full house you could buy a lot then build a house and homestead unless you're not planning to stay permanently
all the concrete block construction; I assume that is due to termite infestations?
Stay safe in Philippines , the best country in the world without a doubt
5000 pesos per month for electricity is quite dear compared to our electric bill in mindoro 3000 pesos per month maximum even with aircon running allday and the lowest at less than 1000 pesos per month sounds to me that iloilo is very expensive in rent and electricity
Congratulations and Best wishes!
If you want to know about more houses on rent, you should ask a local barber or local store owner, they know everything and every activity about the neighborhood
Don’t forget the local tricycle drivers, they see everything
You are foreigners talking to a camera... just hard to make strategical negotiation like that...
Wow, its very nice! Congratulations for finding the right one for you! 🥳🪅🪅🪅
Have you considered moving close to Iloilo City, but not exactly in Iloilo City, such as in Oton or Pavia or Leganes?
Without a car it would be very hard that's why we are trying to stay inside the city
Always negotiate!. That Singapore owner lost out. I always negotiate (world traveler) down on the security deposit and monthly rent. Gluck
I really love watching about house vlogging , really enjoying it ..
You can get rent to own house for only 10k to 15k monthly, inside subdivisions.
Good windows are a must. Keep looking.
I'll finish watching this later, so far so 👍 good
The lady looks familiar, seen a few of her listings on marketplace
you went to lapaz 😅 my house is just near that shell area 😅 too bad i didn't know you we're coming 😅
@@scottiespuhghetti3144 Law of supply and demand. It seems that there are very few supplies in Iloilo City and that's why the prices are high.
18 thousand is good... 15 thousand is better... Its an old house.... 22 is very expensive.......
Definitely the ‘kano’ price!
What's with the barrel distortion of your camera? It makes me dizzy. I'm watching your vlog everyday coz I'm excited to watch your house hunting.
I'll go for the second house.
I wld sugg just get a fully furnished apartment. It's a headache if u hv to shop for Yr own furnishings and you never know you might move into another hse and another headache taking yr furniture's, appliances to another hse...again...
House hunting is very tedious. I hope you two find a compatible home soon.
I hope that’s more affordable and practical.. Take it now!
another tour to find a rented a house... hope you have now choosen👍🙏😄
Are you planning to stay in the Philippines for good? Why not buy a small lot and build your own house?
Don't rush finding the right one.
Is such areas really safe and secure? Would a foreigner feel safe and secure?
So it’s only $393.93 per month with 3 months rent as the deposit? and does that go towards you first 3 months rent?
That’s so cheap!
First to comment 👍🏻😁🤟🏼rokenrol 🤟🏼

Hi Mike, we have a three bedroom house with solar in a quiet subdivision you might be interested in renting. If you haven't found a place yet, mayybe we can chat. Cheers
