I may soon be open to doing custom/commission work. It’s dependent upon my bulk order of low profile amps arriving. It uses a much smaller amp board that will be put in just under the Vader jawline so the buttons will all be accessible just inside your neck/jawline without having to remote them like in version 1. It will also NOT tap into the existing speaker, instead it will either have just the speaker at the top of the dome, or it might also have a low profile one inside the jaw half as well. In the next few weeks I’ll release a new video with whatever design I finally opt to do. You can also check out my Mandalorian black series install to see how I installed this low profile amp in that, to understand the size and button layout - ruclips.net/video/yPGlVtBoNYg/видео.htmlsi=DCLnQqrpvJUoydzU If that style installed for control inside the mask’s neck/jaw area is of interest- let me know, perhaps we can work something out.
Thanks for the interest --> It's spurred me into finishing it off! It's done now - This should be the right link: ruclips.net/video/oQ3CMPb6pqw/видео.html (if not it should be now after this video in my "Creative Stuff Playlist") Cheers, Nate
@@jbichotte Much appreciated! It's almost ridiculous - right. How do they not know their market? Poor research - or cut the elaborate electronic cuz people will buy it anyway. Although that said - they still put voice amps in some models. I suppose they think ONE audio feature is enough, but frankly I'd prefer the amp/voice changer. You'd think they'd know they could put in the extra $5 of functionality and sell it at $200 and still sell out. Curious.
The “how to” is in part 2 - I’m not sure which part of the helmet you’re referring to. The helmet comes in 3 pieces: bottom neck, top face and the dome. I unscrewed the jaw portion to get access there. Then I used a pliers to break out intrusive plastic portions and used a Dremel with a grinder to clean those up. I drilled out the holes on the side for the buttons. To put the wires through the face part I just unscrewed near the sides and ran the wires up the inside edge of the face. At the top of the upper half I unscrewed the area holding the speaker and might have used pliers and Dremel again to fit the speaker in.
The amplifier itself does not have voice changing capability. However, you could get one of those $15-$20 Voice Changer’s and put that as the feed into your amplifier. They have a mic in port so they have a built in preamp, so they’re a simple voice changer solution. I am realizing now I already filmed a video for one of these - the i9 Voice Changer, but forgot to publish it. So that’s the next thing I’ll probably publish. Cheers.
Here are videos for the i9 voice changer I’ve made - it’s a fair price at ~$25 lately. I don’t see, why not. Personally, I try and fit it in the helmet. I have not yet tried this myself. You might be able to fit it inside one of the cheeks I’m not sure. You could fit it up by the top of your head and just run wires up to it. Worst case scenario you could attach it to the inside of the upper back part of the dome And have the wiring out there, however, I wouldn’t recommend it if you can manage to find a way to get it inside face portion instead. Actually better than putting it on the back of the dome might be putting it under your chest armor. It’s so thin it’s good under there just fine and run the wires up into the helmet through your neck. Many options just depend on how willing you are to be tedious at finding the best placement and cutting plastic to fit it in and stuff like that. Best of luck.
I recently got the 2022 version myself but I still need to mod it. I’ll be using a different personal amp that has a much smaller footprint. If you haven’t seen it check out my latest recommendation from under my vids. Whenever I do it I’ll drop the video too
As you likely know - holding the button does not result in a loop. So, I can only imagine it would require a mod to the board's programming - which seems would be challenging and require skills I certainly do not have. Alternatively, I'd recommend using a low profile amp that has a very small footprint (like this - amzn.to/3mxxQ3J) -rather than a bulky one like I used in that video. That way you can put a TF/Micro SD card in with the breathing and just let it loop. Here's a video I did where I talk about that amp with small footprint: ruclips.net/video/N8pYezaKldo/видео.html
I may soon be open to doing custom/commission work. It’s dependent upon my bulk order of low profile amps arriving. For Vader I’m now doing the install a more efficient way. You too can be a proud owner of a Darth Vader Black series helmet and just sport the respirator- so you can drive your wicked cool black convertible with red ground effects - up and down Imperial Drive blasting the Imperial March. Be sure to have your cape draped over your seat so it blows in the wind. Have those red & yellow eye contacts to add to the character. 😉
If I had the EFX, I'd definitely do the same for it. I do however really like the ability to take off the top half of the helmet -- If EFX did a redesign with that capability, it would become a higher priority on my procurement list, for sure.

Could you mod the main mask part with a fan to make it easily breathable?

@@creative-stuff you're the real mvp... dunno why hasbro keeps dropping the ball on details like this...

Is it possible to use that amplifier as a voice changer? I can figure out how to put a voice changer in the helmet 😭
