  • Brain aneurysm survivors frequently report they were initially misdiagnosed with medical conditions such as migraine headaches, stress and anxiety. In many cases, a misdiagnosis could have been avoided if an imaging test such as a CTA (Computerized Tomography Angiography) scan of the head was performed.
These survivors have partnered with the Brain Aneurysm Foundation to share their misdiagnosis' in hopes to increase awareness and prevent others from experiencing the same thing.
Become brain aneurysm aware… it could save a life! Watch our video to learn more.
Please share and subscribe for more videos about brain aneurysms, research, support, and ways to advocate with the Brain Aneurysm Foundation.

Our intension is to help educate people about brain aneurysm misdiagnosis. Many patients, like the ones in this video, were misdiagnosed and a life-saving brain scan was NOT ordered. Instead, they were told it was stress, migraines etc. You know your body best and if something doesn’t feel right, we want this video to help you know that it is ok to advocate for yourself and ask for a brain scan. In some cases, it could save your life and find a brain aneurysm before it ruptures.

Try not to jump to the worst case scenario I know that’s hard to do but some people (me included) have migraine or complex migraine disease and it can cause stroke symptoms and pain so intense it’ll feel like dying but they aren’t life threatening unless it’s happening too often because they do slowly cause damage to the brain. Maybe save up some money for an MRI just to check things out and it could give you some peace of mind. It really helped knowing there was nothing seriously wrong in my brain causing the attacks but it is still hell to deal with and I’m so so sorry if you’ve been experiencing migraines.

I’ve been getting headaches for the last 2 weeks, what feels like pressure & tension in my head and sometimes on my upper nose where my eyes are. I’ve been getting lightheaded rarely, although my MRI scan came back showing nothing, yet these persisting headaches keep making me anxious that it is indeed an aneurysm that has not ruptured. Is there another way to check? What should I do?
