    Makes sense...not sure why I didn't think of this technique before. I always relied on putty and sanding.

    Thanks for the video. This was very informative. I used to (sometimes do) just "run" [thick] house paint down the intake, usually white in colour, to create a seamless coat. But i will try your method as it is less messy. Thanks.

      I just use Mr Surfacer with a paint brush.
