Ah, how I long for the days of Titanic rivet counter spats. Silly, actually, because everybody knows the Titanic was black & white and built before color was invented. 🤓 Excellent parts offerings, Ben!
Some of those parts look like they will also go well on the Hachette build, too. Someone I follow bought the stairs and put them on the Hachette build and they look way better, then the supplied ones.
That’s great to hear! I don’t have the Hachette model so I don’t have any idea about the size of things. With the exception of the anchor chains. Someone did buy them to try out and they are too short on that kit for some reason.
Hi Ben. I’m thinking of purchasing the Trumpeter Titanic to start working on. However, I noticed in your videos you used a lot of parts from model Shapeways. What do you recommend I do now that Shapeways is bankrupt? I was hoping to get a hawse pipe possibly and some other parts you used throughout your titanic series. Do you think Shapeways will come back any time soon somehow, at least their products?
My understanding is Shapeways is finished. The only thing you can do is hunt around for the extras you want or scratch build them, at this time. But maybe things will change down the road.
I have not tried it. But some people say it’s way better than the hot knife because it’s not hot and will do the same job. If you have one, I wouldn’t hesitate to try it.
@@TheMidwestModelShop I do have one and it works good! Kind of freaky because it makes no sound. A little overkill trimming the balsa wood hull inserts on my saucy jack!
Great video as always. I’m curious what CA glue you use that gives you so much work time? I typically use Bob Smith or Zap and it’s like as soon as contact is made it’s stuck
I use Bobs. And when the bottle is new, you have 1/2 to 1 second and it’s set up. BUT… CA glue has a very short shelf life once opened (that’s why I only buy the small bottles) and after a month, it doesn’t work as well and you have several seconds to get your part into position. So you can be strategic about your glue if you have a few small bottles and you know how well they are working.
These parts look great. I have started generating parts for models as well. My first 3d model design ever is the Stern Gallery for the Academy 1/350 HMS-Warspite Battleship. Ben would you be willing too give some feedback and insight on my design if I email you the link?
Love the straight-faced snark you’re throwing at the Titanic zealots in the opening. 😂
Thank you. I do what I can.
Great design, outstanding manufacturing, excellent instructional video
Nice job again Ben… love it
Just received-great as usual and will be reviewed on my Titanic FB page very soon. Keep 'em coming guys but have a good break too!
Thank you Ray!
I love your channel!
Looks great Ben. You will be getting even more of my money it seems. 🤪

Awesome! - Gary

How's that 1/200 scale destroyer coming?????
Which one?
Think they are referring to the Fletcher
No word yet. I’ll most likely know when you know.
Outstanding work Ben! Ordered! Hey, what do you think of the Phrozen Sonic Saber Cutter vs. a hot knife?

Does it fit the Hachette Metal Titanic , the one does with the Ship is bad made
I don’t know. I don’t have a Hachette kit.

Hi Ben. Do you know how I can get the scale decks trumpeter titanic set? I went on eBay and it shows unavailable as well as on Amazon.
Nope. That guy has a lot going on and this was a hobby gig for him.
@@TheMidwestModelShop is there any way to buy them off second parties? If not, what is the next best deck I can get?
Didn’t the windows have glass panels in them?
Yes. You’ll have to make that happen.
@@TheMidwestModelShop they don’t come in the Trumpeter kit?

I’d be happy to take a look. You can email any time.
