I would have kept the ‘V12’ badge on the C-pillar. That’s what made it cool.

What about a small led screen that says V12? That would be super cool and futuristic and scream "I'm rich and fancy and can afford cool things like that"

the redesign of the rear looks cooler and depicts a look of an old school revival. the front just looks like W222 accessories mounted on the W140 body.
I think the grille and the wheels are a little wrong. It needs a refinement of the old-school grille, not a modified version of the current grille. And it needs flat-sided wheels to compliment the broad, flat panels of the body. The multi-spoke wheels don't do much for this kind of body.
They should have stick to their roots like with Gwagon when it comes to S class.
If they release w140 with slightly better lines like in this pic, throw in new tech it should be a big success.
Gwagon is still a very damn good car that's wanted by millions.

You brought up a very good point. The G WAGON still has that old rugged shape it's kept for a very long time but with updated technology and Interior and it's sooo popular

I don’t think i’d bat an eye if i saw this parked next to a brand new mercedes at the dealership. It looks so freaking cool!

I keep rewatching this video imagining what updated interior of the w140 would look like. I wonder how you would mix the technology of these days with the beautiful smooth interior of the w140 and that amazing woof trim How a center console screen would look like... What if it was in the phone compartment at the top of the dash and when it opens a smooth sclass type screen pops up and how would that look with the wood trim. Anyone else ever seen a redesign or update on the w140s interior

I admire your work and I really enjoy watching every single video of yours. As a graphic designer myself although not professional , I would share a little tip for you to make it just a bit extra realistic. *Reflections.* By just adding a layer of a very light horizontal line that goes down to the bottom of the car, onto the bumper and side of the car, it would make it a lot more believable. This will represent the ground reflection and surround.

That modernized S-Class looks stunning. Interesting how the new lights only started to make sense after you put the new front grill on. Very beautiful, classic, slightly conservative, luxury, serious design. And I agree with you. That's how an S-Class should look like.
The headlights redesign looks like a cheaper aftermarket piece

I absolutely love the W140!! I used to have one and really miss it. Actually, I really like the changes you made, looks nice but I prefer the original looks as you said it is very presidential its a beast and it was the last of the best quality solid mercs.
It actually looks fantastic, and it's not to far from the actual S-klasse line-up. I think it sits right between de W220 and the W223. Great job.
Redesign the G-class to be a coupe
those exist on the old platform, they even have a convertible coupe. don't think they have made one of the current platform though, could be wrong

This is sick! Boxy shape has more presence than aerodynamic shapes that Benz been focusing on. See the Royce, boxy, but for presence.

I live in Africa , my father ordered from germany this model ( brand new) in 1992 and arrived at home 31 of dec 1992, I was a teenager. Until now we have it at home, in very good condition. the reactions of people on the road in 90's were just incredible, it's like we were driving the most luxury Rolls Royce ever made.
But to be honest i hate the back , your redesign should be for the back. The front is the best S Class style ever released.
Maybe I would widen a bit the grill, or at least to see how it would look, great redesign

The difference of the LED strips is similar to the horizontal grille strips of the W201/124/126. The W124 and W126 (E- and S-Classes of their days) had three strips; the W201 (the C-Class) only had two.

This was cool. I would've kept the design of the classic tail light structure and added the LED modernization to it. I'd like to see a modernized Infiniti Q45.

I lower roofs on cars often and I agree the 140 need to come down , if I were building one I’d bring the roof down more ! Maybe a 2.5“ /3” chop if you could show me a lower roof I’ll build it I have two w140 wouldn’t be to hard

Hey dude it looks very cool but i think the maybach grill would look waaaay better i mean the vertical one with the many lines.
I was not sure with the front bumper at the beginning. But at the end it suits very well - and yes: that's how a s-class has to look like. Not like you said sporty as it is now...it has to be presidential!

Will you please redesign the XJ? You can use any of the pre-2011 ones or use the post-2011 one. Either way, it would be fun to see.
It looks really good but for some reason despite the changes in proportions and tweaks like the fenders and window line, which definitely help modernize it, it still almost looks like someone just took the original and just tricked it out. I think it has to do with the softness of the edges on the real car because even though this is a very boxy car on the macro scale, it seems as though it didn’t completely escape the melted cheese philosophy. Without overstyling of course, I think just a bit of added sharpness would have been beneficial and took this design to the next level.
