It's a really lovely and varied route this one! And indeed, makes a run like this so much more straight forward when you have such easy transport links!
What a funny way to finish, that had to be rounded up! Really enjoyable video showcasing this route, great decision on the trail shoes and what fabulous weather you had for it. I've added it to the list for when I am back in bonnie Scotland.
Thanks Claire! Yeah such a great route! I've been enjoying seeing what you guys have been up to over there, what an adventure, bet you're glad you made the move, a great experience!
Really enjoyed the video Paul. The lovely trails between Newton Farm and Strathclyde park are my usual running routes as I stay in Newton Farm. Glad you liked it! The wee narrow trails near Bothwell Castle are absolutely brilliant!
Thank you! Yeah those trails are brilliant, was such a pleasant surprise although guess I had nice dry crisp conditions for it. I'd imagine a bit more sloppy in the wet!?
Yessss!! I can't believe I've never been that route! What a cracking day out and huge kudos on the mileage. HAHA got to laugh at you rounding up at the end. Well done mate. Another fantastic video.
Hi Paul, great to see you putting another great video up,was good to meet and have a chat with you up at the uni with Charlie, and as you say it's amazing what's on your doorstep if you get yourself out there, albeit 25k from it brilliant lol😂,meant say to you I did the river aye way race last year that's one you would do easily, loving your content m8,keep it up👍
Aye great to meet you Billy! I did a large section of the river Ayr way many years ago but had seen there was a race. Believe the route can be a bit overgrown at places? Will prob look to do that race this year, depending when it is! Hopefully see u out and about again soon!
Yeah I heard about that race but only afterwards. Nice doing own adventures but if there's an organised event over a particular route then it's good to do that!
Looked like a great route 👍🏻 Are you training for anything? I've got my sights on my first 50 miler in September... A cheeky 70k is pretty impressive! Well done!
Ah good stuff, what u got lined up? I'm just trying to maintain a good base level. Got quite a few 100 miler races this year... Whw race and lakeland 100. Plus went and put my name down for the Tor330... Will see if I get a place!!
@@TheRandomRunner Ochils 50 in September. But firstly a PB attempt at the Edinburgh marathon in May! 🤞🏻 BTW I saw you ran with Irene recently. She's my physio 😂
I think that would take you to newton farm. It's all concrete up till there so road shoes are fine. But if it's trail you're looking for then it all gets more interesting after Newton farm
I love these scenic runs! What a joy to have safe & functional public transport.

Watching your videos mr fit great stuff pal love it ❤😊
Thank you!! Glad you're enjoying them... Plenty more to come!!
Thanks for the tour of the Clyde valley. I’m rather envious of your frost; it’s hot and humid here in Queensland, Australia
Yes, a stark contrast I'd imagine!! Must say, I wouldn't mind a bit of the warmth!

@@TheRandomRunner definitely! There’s loads of great deviations of the path around the area too. Worth a wee explore another time!

Ah thank you! Yeah I was so pleasantly surprised with the route! Definatley one that's worth exploring!! Certainly couldn't have left it at 69.9k 😂

lovely route Paul & cracking day for it. Yeah you can't finish just under 70km🤣
Absolutely!! Although I really did nearly miss the train and would've had to wait an hour for the next one!! 😂
Love the Clyde trails. You should consider doing the ClydeStride Ultra if it’s still on these days. Great video 👍
Yeah I heard about that race but only afterwards. Nice doing own adventures but if there's an organised event over a particular route then it's good to do that!
Maybe you should start working for a tourist agency - so many nice trails you know 😀.
Well I guess you never know!! Would be good even to get a link to the videos on the Visit Scotland website or indeed the Scotland's Great Trails one!

Hi mate, just watched vid 👍, if I was to start at partick and ran 15k-18k where would that take me??
I think that would take you to newton farm. It's all concrete up till there so road shoes are fine. But if it's trail you're looking for then it all gets more interesting after Newton farm
Does anyone know what watch he is using?
It's a Garmin Fenix 6X. Great watch, battery life is awesome and nice big screen!
Thank you very much
