Lived in West Kirby between 1965 and 1970 which puts me in the geriatric league now!! What a privileged time to be a teenager and to absorb the Merseyside vibe eh? Lovely part of the country, great people, many happy memories. Your humour and local accent bring it all back so clearly. Great times never to be forgotten.. All the best

Ha. Absolutely Brill. I love the fact you seem to really dislike the naming of the chords..."it doesn't matter what they are called, as long as you can play them", or words to that affect. I've been playing for 50 years, but still enjoy, and learn stuff from your tutorials. I'm from Gateshead/Newcastle so have a lot in common with Liverpool folk. Would love to have a pint with you. Maybe sign up for some of your lessons. Ha, you make me smile. Thanks ever so much...Rock on..

Reportedly, the guitar intro on "Jolene" was played by Chip Young in Nashville. (Though the Wrecking Crew did a ton of work in LA.) Thanks for the tutorial.

Hi Rob great lessons I started 5 years ago when I reached 60 its been frustrating at times but really enjoy playing. I can play quite a few songs with open cords but it has been a bit of a task with bar cords and finger-picking as the fingers are not as flexible now. I will carry on slowly as I know I will get there in the end. Thanks again for the great way you teach.

    Hi Rob,
Recently discovered your excellent videos during the Christmas break and have learned a lorryload of helpful stuff in a very short time. Love the Merseyside humour which always brings a smile to my face and adds to the learning experience. Used to live on the Wirral during my teens (about half a century ago!) and first picked up a guitar at that time. Only goes to show that the learning process never ends... Thanks a million for sharing your knowledge with the rest of us out here.

Love his humor he really cracks me up, he's so Whitty and says the funniest things lmao!! I learned Jolene from his video and ill tell you it was a real tough one for me, but you just have to stick with it. Even when I got the separate parts down perfect (with speed), trying to put them all together was really hard for me (then something crazy just happened)!! I was setting in my chair watching tv practicing like I do a lot, and my son (who is also learning Jolene) yelled at me and said I did it perfect and I didn't even know it!! From that point it just fell together and I couldn't even see how I never got it before as it was so easy (just fell together)!! Now I can do it (full speed and even faster than full speed) and not even think about it, so Rob was exactly right when he said it was easy!! I'm 65 years old and think obviously everyone will see it fall together for them differently from everyone else, but when it does oh my what a feeling!! 🤔🤔🤣🤣😁😁👍👍👍👍Thanks Rob!!

Hi Rob i'd just like to say how refreshing i find your style of tuition. I've been learning guitar (you never stop learning) for years so i'm by no means a beginner but by the same token i've never considered myself accomplished enough to actually call myself a guitarist. Keep up the good work, keep posting, thank you and a HNY to you too.

Rob, I find my fingers just get so confused trying to place them with the left hand and picking with the right (even after slowing it all down and repeating and repeating) while my fretting fingers always seem to have one or two which will, no doubt, touch an adjacent string and screw things up by deadening it. After so many tries -even over days - I just give up. How can I overcome this impreciseness?
