World Wide Corals 1200g Mangrove Lagoon Tank Update

- Опубликовано: 30 сен 2024
- We posted the 1st video of our 1200 Gallon Mangrove Lagoon Tank back in April 2020. The tank it self is located at the World Wide Corals Orlando Superstore. The main purpose of the tank(besides growing great corals)is to give the store a "WOW Factor"
In that 1st video we took the viewer on a special tour of our newest & most unique reef tank. It definitely has really grown in well, and we are proud to say it looks absolutely amazing after just a little over 1 year of growth. Enjoy the update & happy reefing everyone!!!

Part 1 - Story of the 1200g Lagoon:
• The Story Of The WWC 1...
Bro ya aint scared of stepping on a bunch of bristle worms? Lol
Nope! lol
hands down the nicest lagoon to date
I would love to see a video on how you manages the nutrients with all that food.
We have another video explaining the sump and overall care of the tank
I’m sure the mangrove helps a ton. That thing is huge
During a Mike Paletta talk recently someone mentioned that when WWC does maintenance on the tanks you use a battery powered pump to clean the rocks from detritus. Can you share what you use for that? Thanks.
We don't use any battery powered pump. We do use turkey basters
Have you ever considered setting up a misting system for the mangrove? Like a MistKing. Would look badass like rain on the lagoon and you wouldn’t have to mist the mangrove and it could sever as a supplementary system to the ATO.
Mom there’s some strange man in that fish tank barefoot
😆🤣
other channels - the key to success is keeping your hands out of your reef tank
WWC - let me take off my shoes and roll up my pants real fast.
That tank is the closest thing to actual reefs I have seen
Thank you. A lot of hard work is put into the tank
Absolutely stunning!! Love seeing updates on this tank!!
Thank you so much! We continue to update it as it grows out :)
Siiiiiiick mangrove setup 👌
Thanks!
What’s the name of the Duncan’s in the lagoon
No names as of yet
Hola vine a suscribirme de parte de @pepenaker
Should add cameras and a big screen TV to see all from different angles and maybe stream online?
We had a few streams of this tank. We are still trying to figure out how to film inside the tank
I hit like because of the amazing content, plus the floating red bull 😂😂😂
Greatly appreciated!!
I run my kalkwasser off a Peristaltic pump but I use it to move rodi water into the avast marine stiring reactor and then out into the sump via gravity. Less wear and tear and just as accurate. Not sure how yours is setup though.
Cool. Thanks for checking out our video
Hey, I am a new reefer light information is what I needed. Unfortunately I can not afford an expensive light, but I like the light I bought a new Nicrew Marine LED only $50 Corals seem very happy
Thank You 🙏. Peace Out. ✌️
How is everything doing?
So that tank is glass, thought it may be acrylic. Any information about the tank itself? How it was built? I'm guessing it was built on site, but does it have a glass bottom? pvc bottom? I know I should be ga-ga over the corals but I really am interested in the construction aspects of tanks much more than what's inside them.
Hey Mike, check out our video on the lagoon tank. It has some more information on the build and make up
Man, I was growing coral in the 90’s. Amazing how far it’s come. BEAUTIFUL TANKS!
That's awesome and great to hear. We appreciate it.
Are the lights G5 blue or pro?
hello i want to cooperate with you
You could put so much less bacteria into those tanks by getting a pair of waders like what you wear when you fly fish.
Don’t worry, his legs won’t do any harm to the 1200g tank :)
The Red Bull at the end
😁✌
Well done, tank and video
Thank you for watching! The other show tanks might be jealous over how much love the lagoon gets on here
BeUtiful video 😃❤️
Thank you so much!!
Hi, what thickness of glass is that? 3/4"?
That’s correct! Beautiful tank!
Dear Santa.. Please stop by WWC and pick out some nice corals for the saltwater tank I want.. Haha.. Keep up the GREAT work gentlemen!! I love seeing the AMAZING tanks and corals at your facility. Much respect and support from Yuma, AZ. 🤙🤙
Thank you so much! And thanks for checking out the video
Mangroves need lots of nutrients and light and they do need water levels to rise then fall back to normal or it can stress the tree having constant water level.
Not necessarily. Like most animals / plants they can adapt to most environments over a long period of time. Our Mangrove in the lagoon has been going strong for close to three years now and only has to experience lower water levels when we do water changes and that occurs once a week, not 2x daily as what occurs in nature. As long as they have a good amount of daylight (supplemental light source works amazingly well) and are spritzed pretty much daily with RO water.
hello wich intensity you recommend for an sps and alsona mixt tank at home and what height? I struggle with mine to find the right setting and i found to run they lower intensity during day time the tank looks to dark and if I go high do that it is pleasant to the eye I fry my corals...
Wow... Just wow...
Thanks
my favorite part (besides everything in the tank) is the adorable crab soda float
That’s awesome! Thanks for watching the video!
Do you measure par in that tank? I'm curious what kind of clam that is and how much and how much par it's getting.
We don't measure par in our tanks
Love this tank! Excellent video! What is the rate on the continuous Kalk dosing and how big is the reservoir for that?!
Walking around in the tank bare foot i thought wow brave man.. but then i thought there is no way there is bristle worms and other stingy creatures in their show tank.. atleast i would think now but maybe he is just that brave 😅👌
Yes, Josh is a brave man!! 🤣😅
Amazing, how much do you keep nitrate and phosphate in the tank?
Parameters:
Cal. 450
Alk. 8.9
Mag. 1450
Nitrate 5-10
Phos. .01-.03
Dood you really need scuba neoprene boots
Sand between the toes is better, lol

Nice work 👍 . Have a look at a reef keepers wife, she has some amazing mangoes in her fish room
what species of tang is that at 3:09? It looks like a clown tang, but there's no blue in it. Am I being fooled by the lighting?
imagine if that redbull was dropped before he opened it
😫
O-towns finest 💯
🤜💥🤛
I guess that is a 1200g tank, but it is half filled... still a cool tank though.
6:24 "omg you gotta gravel vac" lol I can only imagine the Justice Warriors trying to chime in. XD
Is this the store on Central Florida?
@@MrGrombie yes
The tank is filled half way because there are no braces on the corners

Excuse me, what liquid is it applied to the mangrove plant ??! regards
I think it’s just fresh water to clean off the salt from the leaf
One of the best tanks out there ! Love it
Thank you
Love seeing how you guys do things!
Thanks!
subtitel indonesia 😥
Which anemone is this?
That is a lemon drop anemone. There is also a Darth Vader anemone in this tank as well
Hey Josh seems like I read somewhere that you guys used the Blues instead of the Pro’s on this tank. Can you verify/clarify why if that’s the case?
I went with XR15 Blues on my 40 Breeder. I won a XR30 Pro on Reefstock@Home and going to purchase another to run on my 75. Was hoping to grab your setting for both variations of the Radion.
All Pros
We do prefer the blues however on all of our display tanks we use the pros, it was just a decision we made to have both fixtures operational to be able to give pros and cons for our customers to choose. After working with the guys at ecotech, they recommend if running a schedule like ours the blue is the better option.
@@jdearel1 I’m running XR15 blues on a 40 Breeder and can’t really dial them in to anything that looks quite like you guys have. Was hoping to be able to pick up your settings.
Masterpiece 🤙🏽
Thank you for checking out the video
Mm of glass on this tank?
It’s roughly 3/4 inch thick :)
@@WorldWideCorals thank you 😊
Love it!
Thanks!
Past two videos have been home runs. Keep it up!
Thank you for checking them out. We are trying to put out quality material
@@WorldWideCorals definitely some bangers lately
@@glennrudolph We appreciate that
So cool
Thank you!
awesome tank awesome corals
We appreciate it very much!
Beautiful tank, how deep is it?
19" of water
Friggin amazing
Thank you!
Do you guys use gen 5 pro or blues?
5 Gen Pros
@@WorldWideCorals is there a reason why you guys run your whites so low?
@@NickM92 Believe it or not, but we have found that corals color up and do better under blues. Years of running them this way has proven this method.
@@WorldWideCorals Why not use the Gen 5 blues then? I'm trying to figure out which ones to buy so that's why I'm asking.
@@geekedathlete412 We prefer the Gen 5 pros
Beautiful! I can’t wait to see it in person!

Best lights we have used so far. Thanks for watching
How big do those mangroves potentially in an aquarium setting??
They are slow growers, but they will continue to grow. You will have to trim when they get too tall
World class tank guys. Great job!!
Thank you, appreciate that
You need a couple of Ice Cap 4K’s ,I would try that before closed loop easier and cheaper
We have tried actually, it's shallow so they pound the coral pretty hard. They need to be turned all the way up in order to make any slight results. The tank is 11 feet across in 2 different directions and flow can only be delivered from 2 sides. Plus the cords are ugly.
