I was in Hawaii with the military from '92 - '95 and I remember this slogan. I catch myself quoting "Ooo, Ahh, Oh Wow, Ala Moana!" to this day! 😆I miss Hawaii, hope to go back there one day.
I was in Pearl Harbor, HI in 1987 to 1991 and like shopping at Ala Moana. Liked the commercial that started in 3:30, I too hope to return to HI before I die. I'm 65 now and a disabled navy veteran.
Because my dad was in the military, we lived on Oahu for two years, I think, from 95' to 96' so I was 9 when we left. That "Ooo, aah, oh wow" slogan is one of the few things I do remember. There were two malls near us but I can't recall the name of the other one, or if Ala Moana was the one with the pigeons in the food court. Seriously, if you looked down you couldn't see the floor, just pigeons who'd calmly walk out of your way while they waited for something to fall on the ground.
My mom would take me to Yami yogurt as a special treat as a keiki... only there, well sometimes Häagen-Dazs. ❤️ wow what sweet memories these have brought up... I basically grew up @ that mall lol... thank you!
I would love to watch Ala Moana's or other local commercials from the '70s.

I miss Ala Moana!!
The background/soundtrack song, for the "Heartfields" store commercial, is the one "I" MOSTLY remember!! :D
And now Ala Moana is going to start charging for parking.
Who fucking even goes to malls anymore? Is it 1985? Buy buy buy! Get your shiny shit here!
Bought my first skateboard there in 1975.
I was in a commercial back then for the opening of the food court. Do you happen to have that? Probably early 90s.
Yami Yogurt-was good stuff! 😋
I don’t remember. Maybe wasn’t born yet. And what happened?
@@keishaparker5489 don’t know how long it was there, but the yogurt was like a soft serve, pretty good

Ala Moana sadly is geared more toward (rich) tourists instead of the longtime locals now.
