i saw u guys are applying coconut chutney very little, to have a flavourful blast in your mouth and to get the complete protein u have to apply coconut chutney more and for good digestion also (because the spices increase acidity levels to complement that more coconut acts as basicity and also taste of course ) , if coconut chutney is over ask for a refill ,and they refill it, everywhere. and dont eat sweet before anything, make it as u r last resort, because if u eat sweet u cant eat more (tummy feels full). i know it is our tradition but this is the real thing behind it. usually, in india celebrations such as festivals food is given to all known and neighbours and guests, as well as some occasions, to make people not to eat more several sweets are given to control people's food intake as people go mad and eat more if the food is nice, and also as a cost perspective to make limited quantity food available for more people. and it had become our tradition.

Again Sambar and Rasam should be mixed with Rice by hand first and then taken in small amount to have full taste. All foreigners take few morsel of Rice first in spoon and then dip it in sambar or Chutney it is not the proper way get full taste. Watch how South Indians do it and then follow as the saying goes, Do as Romans when you are in Rome!

You need to eat with only one hand by pulling apart the dosa, all the food too, comes with practice. Also, you just have to use fingers not palm and the fingers of the back shouldn't be messy much. The other hand is used to serve yourself other dishes if you need any or to drink water while eating else it makes messy .
