Love the video! I just picked up a cherry sx300 from the original owner in Colorado and can't wait to do exactly what you just did. How thick is the aluminum flat bar you use to bolt the motor mounts too?
Hello nic. I’m new to stand ups and got a lemon of a 89 650 sx motor wise. I have a Yamaha LX 650 sitting that runs perfect. Can I follow what you did here are do I need to do more research?
Hey Nate, Love your videos! Have a question. Does the Yamaha 500 share the same bedplate as the 650? I have a fresh 500 yami motor sitting in a ski. Want to know if I can purchase the Rhass conversion plates to mount the 500 into a JS hull (440). You have any idea? I know Rhass makes the plates for 650/701 to 440/550 hull..Just not sure about the Yamaha 500 bedplate.Cheers!
I don't think it does, but the 500 engine is super slow I wouldn't bother doing that kind of conversion since I think the 440 kawasaki makes more power to weight. The conversion to yamaha in the 550 is worth doing but I would do a 650 or 701 and make sure to have a good pump system and prop to make use of the power. Those are super fun skis to ride when done right. Best of luck!
@@nastynic007 Thanks for reply! Yes, I already have/built a 440/650 conversion. Great ski. I was just wondering about the 500yami. Because I have an extra hull and the motor is pooched. So I thought about tossing in the 500. Probably not worth the time. Lol. Cheers Nate!
nice job can't wait for the 750 pump conversion update.
I had one that had a super jet 144mm pump grafted in with a 701 and a b pipe. Bought it built and never even got tot test it! Before I sold it.
Man am I glad I found this channel to scratch my stand up ski itch 🤙🤙🤙 awesome 🍻
