I can't thank you enough for taking the time to film this job. Well done, fabulous camera work. I will be referring to this as I change mine. I hope my job goes as smooth as you made this look.
Your video made me confident. My dad is 75, it has been at the shop for two weeks. I told him to go get the car, I will come by after work soon as the parts arrive. I will tackle the job. It won’t be that bad. I would film it, but I would be screaming words that may offend people. Great video!
Lol theirs always the edit button for those words. You got it and it’s not the bad once you get it done you’ll think why didn’t I just do this in the first place. Good luck
Bro I am having the damn this time getting this pump back into place. I watched your video 100 x and I still can't figure out how you get the pump back inside upside down I have been trying that and cannot do it
I removed the 3 front passenger subframe bolts. After reassembling power steering pump I am unable to get the largest of the 3 bolts back into the subframe bracket. Does anyone know how to realign everything so that the bolt can be reinstalled?
Thank you for posting this! I’m gonna be using a similar setup, no lift, etc. so this was perfect for being able to see what I’m actually getting into! Thankfully, I am changing the inner and outer tie rod ends also so hopefully that’ll give me some more room for getting the old one out and new one in lol!
Thank you so much for this video. My pump started going out and I was worried I wouldn’t be able to do this replacement on my own. I felt like a master mechanic after watching and knocked it out. 🔧 🚘 👨🔧 thanks again.
Hello, hey I have a 2012 Chevy Traverse LT trying to put the power steering pump on and I'm having the trouble that when I drop the subframe on the passenger side it's only going down two of the four in required to pull the power steering pump. Can you think of anything I could have done wrong?
So make sure the sub frame is supported but you need to drop the driver side down too a little just make sure the bolts don’t come all the way out or you’ll have a bad day. I started on the driver side bolts took one all the way out than thread it back in 3-4 turns than dropped the passenger side. Get another floor jack for the driver just in case
Bro my wife's car is a 2011 Buick Enclave this weekend I replace the struts shocks motor mounts sway bar links tie rods and and the power steering pump took it for a drive an still doing the same I came back home I bled the power steering pump nothing
Thanks for this video...Makes me feel a lot more confident about doing this job myself. It's on my daughters car and her husband is not mechanically inclined at all and the shop wanted to charge her so much to do it .. so it's going to be Dad to the rescue. Thanks Again
I have a 2008 Buick Enclave ? Do you change the transmission filter wen you changed it. A transmission service center wants to do the maintenance on it for $290 it looks fairy easy 7/16 I can do that Myself with watching your posts love how you explain things don’t pause go straight filming it helps you do a great job very appreciate your help I’m RUclips certified 😁
This is the worst place to put anything on a car. Back in the day it took 15 min with a beer in one hand to do the job. Thanks for the vid though, very well done👍
very good video and very helpful, I have a question: is it reliable to buy the power steering pump on Amazon? I have heard some people better buy the parts at Autozone, Napa etc. What do you think about it, is there a difference in quality? because the difference in prices is very large. Hopefully and you can answer me with your opinion. Thank you!
@@str8burbn because in local auto parts they cost much more than online, that's why I ask you if they will be of better quality because they cost more. you know what I mean!
GMC used to be easy to work on and find parts for Toyota picked right up on that and Chevy went the other way even tho they are sister companys imagine trying to pay for this auto and paying a shop to fix it..,
Fixing to get mine replaced, Buying the part today- Thank God my friend has experience doing this
Thank you so much brother, your video really helped me.
thanks for the lesson you were clean and easy to follow
Good job l doing same thing myself thanks for the video
I can't thank you enough for taking the time to film this job. Well done, fabulous camera work. I will be referring to this as I change mine. I hope my job goes as smooth as you made this look.

The transmission filter can only be accessed by taking the transmission out so I haven’t done that. Just drain it and fill

I like Amazon and rock auto but make sure you get something better than ac delco
@@str8burbn So do you think Amazon, Rock auto, Autozone and Napa are the same quality?
@@str8burbn because in local auto parts they cost much more than online, that's why I ask you if they will be of better quality because they cost more. you know what I mean!
You will get the same quality without the markups.
The auto parts store has to markup their parts to pay for all the overhead to make a profit
God bless you
There is no need to go through all this work. The pump comes out easily to the back beside the catalytic!
Everything I read said it wouldn’t but if it happens again I’ll try that
Just did this repair last night for a GMC Acadia AWD, power steering pump came out through the back in between the catalytic converter and prop shaft.
@@cire80 Thanks for that critical bit of information!
I watched in disbelief as you poured that bottle of brake fluid into the power steering reservoir.........
My thoughts exactly
I agree, very enthusiastic but it seems that it should have been trans fluid DEXRON VI
Yeah it was flushed out and trans fluid was used the same day just never changed it on the video as it wouldn’t let me.

Dealership...$1800 bucks, nope!
