Always a thrilling journey when you get to pass through the Bandipur & Madumalai forest and witness the wild animals roaming. The KSRTC Airavat is allowed to pass through the Bandipur Forest at night time as this is the only route towards Ooty. A limited number of buses are allowed, ie, two KSRTC Airavat buses, one KSRTC Sleeper bus & Two Kerala RTC Multiaxle buses. Apart from this no other vehicle is allowed to enter the forest post 6 pm. Get to witness the wildlife for free though this journey. The gate opens for normal traffic at 6 am.

Bro. KSRTC and TNSTC have been running buses since so many years. I studied in Bangalore in early 1990's and my parents lived in Ooty. Every weekend I used to travel by bus via this way.

This is most beautiful route...lush greenery and you spots wild animals in day also.. we travelled there 2 years back..its most scenic..
We have visited this area just 12 days ago during daytime..so beautiful..deers , peacock are so common..so deep and dense forest..Its a beauty of nature..love it😊
I had visited bandipura gorest few days ago i even got down the bus during the night in the forest.As i was sitting next to driver while we were going back to Bangalore.

Animals are so careful while crossing but why humans are so careless. When I travelled from Mangalore to Bangalore at mid night I heard one man screaming when our bus passed by , we all got scared but the bus driver didn't bother . Now I remembered that.
It seems this is an old video. I traveled through this place two days back. There was no greenery at all. Full dry place

I was on that road in tamil nadu , buy during day time on tiger safari , an elephant had tried to attack our bus. Imagine your bus breaks down in night, and you have no phone signal 🤣

It is closed at 9pm. But 4 govt buses are allowed to pass bandipur around 11pm.
