3:50 I have been playing Magic since I was six years old back in 1995 and I'm on the autism spectrum so I can ramble on and on and on about things that interest me, so if anyone wants my random running commentary about any of the SUPER COOL STUFF in this awesome video, here it is hehe 4:45 That one is 4th Edition. I like that DiTerlizzi art the most, but the original printing of that was from Arabian Nights, as the Suleiman referenced is the Ottoman Sultan from actual history. My shorthand for identifying the core sets before they started including expansion symbols: -Limited Edition Alpha have really rounded corners that look really off when you first see them -Limited Edition Beta look the same as Alpha except they have the corners in every subsequent set -Unlimited Edition are pretty much identical to Beta except they have white borders (I think the 6:45 Lightning Bolt was Unlimited) -Revised Edition are white bordered like Unlimited, except the outer edge of the colored part of the borders have just a thing black line, while Unlimited have kind of a beveled decorative effect on it. Also, for cards that Tap, Unlimited says "Tap: blah blah" while Revised has the original tap SYMBOL -Fourth Edition have a copyright date of 1995 -Fifth Edition have a copyright date of 1997 7:35 Blinding Angel looks like Rogue from X-Men to me. 8:35 Don't look up her political views or her comments on trans people. You'll be happier. And that's all I burden anyone with on that. 10:00 Shackles was bonkers good in the first year of Modern. Utility spot removal is so efficient and ubiquitous now that it doesn't do enough, but it sure used to be frustrating to play against. 10:40 There was a running gag in the articles in the official magic website for a long time that a brain-in-a-jar Gleemax was really the one designing everything for Magic. Use Tinker to get Gleemax into play and you pretty much automatically win :D 12:40 the Unhinged lands are so absolutely gorgeous. They did come in foil, I knew someone at my LGS who had a stack of each. The foils islands are like 50 bucks each mint condition :O Even those nonfoil are around five dollars each. The Un-sets were the only way to get full-art lands prior to Zendikar. Now they're in basically every set, which is good and bad in different ways. I'm partial to the original Unglued, which are a little silly looking, but those John Avon Unhinged have to be the most *beautiful* lands in all of Magic. 14:40 A Goblin token from the original Unglued! Un-sets let WotC try out lots of new ideas, alongside the fullart lands from earlier, they also had the first ever TOKENS included in booster packs! 15:30 I distinctly remember my friend offering to trade me his Gaea's Cradle for my Emperor Crocodile and, even then, I felt like that would be unfair to him so I said no. There's only about a $1,200 difference in value between the two nowadays. 17:40 Damage prevention cards like Master Healer (or little sister Samite Healer) are pretty terrible in constructed Magic, but they're also a massive headache to play with and against in limited. I'm glad they don't print those sorts of cards anymore, I still have nightmares about Master Healer in Urza's Destiny. 17:55 One of the worst cards I can think of for a singleton format like Commander. I was scanning my old collection and found that I somehow have 8 copies of that in my junkbox. 18:24 I have FOUR copies of the Alpha edition of that card from aaaaalll the way back when putting that on Flying Men from Arabian Nights was a cutting edge strategy. It was a simpler time. 12:08 Funny how much one line of text makes a difference. Those fetch lands see almost zero play because they come into play tapped, where as their untapped counterparts are probably the single most format altering cycle of cards ever printed. 12:20 I have Ghost Town in a Soul of Windgrace commander deck. Burgeoning + Ghost Town + any landfall ability is super-duper strong every opponents' turn. 23:55 I'm resleeving a commander deck while I watch this, and I was holding a copy of Harmonic Sliver when you got to it! freaky :D 24:38 oo I need that for a deck. I was looking at some websites today seeing where I could get one :D 25:09 Djinn are so untrustworthy! 25:23 Goblin Lackey was, at one point, the best turn 1 play you could make in the Extended format (Modern before Modern). When everyone else is playing monoblue counterspell decks, a 1 drop that lets you avoid having to cast your creatures is very good. 28:18 Savra was secretly a traitor to the Golgari and was doing the bidding of the Dimir. They eventually backstabbed her, though, and now Vraska is in charge. 29:08 That card was part of a World Championship top 8 decklist for one reason, and one reason only: It could transmute into Dragonstorm. Patrick Chapin and Gabriel Nassif both had it in their decks in one of the most intense and entertaining professional matches I've ever seen in the 2007 Worlds tournament. Google "Instant Classic: Nassif vs. Chapin" if you're curious. It has the most incredible ending of any match ever IMHO (though Grozoth doesn't play a part in that game). Great video Miss Pumpkin! Thanks for making it :)
@@misspumpkinasmr I've been seeing a trend where nonfoil cards are more expensive than foil ones for new sets now. It's too bad. At least the new styles of foiling like etched and galaxy are cool and don't curl like traditional foiling.
Been quietly enjoying the mtg content, so just wanted to say thanks! Perfect bedtime material for me
Absolutely love your mtg content! Your voice is extremely soothing so thank you! 😊
What a wonderful timing, im just going to bed and you droped new magic ASMR :3
I respect and admire how much you know about the MtG art!
You have some great cards in your collection!
I don't know why I didn't expect this to be genuine asmr, but I did not expect this to be genuine asmr

I'm a long time ASMR enjoyer and a recent MTG convert. This is a perfect combo for me!
Yeah urite I’m so happy to find a magic player asmrtist I’ve been looking everywhere hehehe
Subscribing for more of this.
The old cards dont curl cause of thicker cardstock.wizards Cut the Costs of producing cards..
Yea I wish they didn't change it. Having cards that are curled right out of the pack feels bad lol.
