    Hi thank you for such informative video. I’m currently a nurse; going on to 1 year since I started but I’ve been thinking of doing my Masters in social work. I just want to ask; how did you cope with university and placement since if I can remember from your other video you did not have any prior knowledge or experience to social work. Was it very challenging especially since is a two year course. And what were the measures you took to prepare yourself before university.

      Thank you. University & placement have to sync together. I felt a 2 year course worked better for my circumstances. I had to stay ahead by planning. Simple things like jotting down deadlines, having a diary to put appointment dates. Yes it was challenging because life does not stop just cause you are back in uni. You still have responsibilities outside of Uni. So you learn to be resilient which is very important as a social worker. Your support network are also important to help you cope. Before University I did my research into the course to see what I was getting myself into & if I would enjoy it. Plus I researched the University to see what they could offer & the structure of the course.

      International students can apply to a university course through UCAS website, it is the university & colleges admissions service for the UK. You search under postgraduate studies. You will be able to see what are the course requirements, & fees. Best wishes.

    Hi, am wondering if you can still do your 20 hours of part time in uk whilst doing MSW as it is a demanding course. Am asking so that I know if I am still able to cover my bills and rent with a part time job. Also, do you get paid at your placement, if not - would you have the time for a part time job then?

    • @simplydadii
      @simplydadii  3 года назад +1

      Unfortunately you don't get paid for placement as it's part of your course. It depends the support you have in place. You can do part time work but it can strenuous with all the competing demands.

    Is it good to study in budget friendly universities for social work in UK ? Is there any difference between the universities that provide MSW when looking for placement offers?

    • @simplydadii
      @simplydadii  3 года назад

      Yes, makes no difference to the course. All universities should provide good quality placements.
