I always say: If you're going to copy the original, you HAVE to be as good or better than the original. Otherwise, you have to be totally 'different.' Hoey did a fine job of the latter!
I own many songs by Gary Hoey. He is gifted and talented. I enjoy most of his songs and I would put this toward the top of my Gary Hoey songs but for one thing, the drum. I love the light tapping with cymbal work and the floor pedal drum but when the snare drum or whatever loud drum is played, it sucks! It is horribly sporadic and the sound produced sounds like a burning barrel being beaten with a dowel rod. At about the three minute mark the song explodes and the percussion sounds great until the snare drum kicks in. What a shame. Santana uses many drums in his music and I see why. If the drums suck it ruins a great performance. What I would have given to hear some tom toms or bongos or Ginger Baker. Oh well, I still enjoy it.
I dunno, man. I love it. I think the percussion matches the guitar talent. It’s complex and requires great talent to pull off. Or that’s what I say anyway.
@@gregm7583 The percussion is O.K. except for the random one beat snare. It's like "We have to have something here because there is a void to fill, so let's just beat this burning barrel with the dowel rod occasionally. There, that did it."
first time i heard it i was drooling
The intensity of this guitar is superb!....LOVE that screeemin Wah!

Wow, How I don't need food anymore.
I can't stand food.
Unless it bites back.
The singer sounds a bit like Alice Cooper
ho ho hoey good !
His music is better then Vai after Vai did that Whitesnake album it all got mellow for me.
Kind of reminds me of "Balls to the Wall" from Accept.
Sounds like Metallica is the rhythm section.
