  • Important update: To take the housing apart to get at the motor and switch you first need to take the impacting mechanism apart like I did in this video. Then, at the back of the impacting mechanism behind the gears there are four screws that you need to take out to open the housing.

    Hi I wanted to change the switch but after removing the screws the cover doesn't come off could you make a video pls

      Thank you for watching. I think that to get at the switch you have to take the anvil off like I did in this video. Let me know if that works.

      Just took mine apart, you have to take off the hammer which slides out. It will be attached to a carrier with a large spring and two gears. Watch as you take them out, the gears are only held in by straight pins and a washer which will fall on the floor upon removal from the unit. Next, slide the black ring gear retainer out and take out the ring gear which will expose 4 short black screws. Take these screws out and you will be able to get the plastic case apart.
      Edit: The 4 black screws are held in by 4 black square nuts on the inside of the plastic case, they may slide out of place as nothing holds them in so make sure all 4 of them are attached (screws will tighten all the way down upon reassembly) or else they may slide out of place and end up caught in the armature.
