Too Darn Hot certainly looks like one to watch next year - I’ll also be keeping a keen eye on Quorto, who also looks as if he could be a serial, G1 winner in the making.

Why aren't there any Group One races for older horses and both sexes at Newmarket? Well, apart from the July Cup.
There should be a 9f Group One at Newmarket on Arc Weekend.
It would be an Autumn rematch for the Guineas horses and a prelude to both the QE and Champion at Ascot and it wouldn't take horses away from the Arc meeting.
It just seems weird that the home of racing no longer has any real championship races now that the Champion Stks is at Ascot.
Very true, I'd even like to see them go back to the Champion Stakes at Newmarket and QEII on the round course rather than the straight mile at Ascot..
I'm not suggesting that Too Darn Hot can't, or even won't win the English 2000 Guineas at Newmarket in May if he runs? But I personally believe over middle distances on down the road eventually is where we'll see this colt really begin to excel. His pedigree, Dubawi x Dar Re Mi(Singspiel) screams middle distances a lot more than it screams a mile, IMO.

He looked to me as a two year old he needed further than 7 furlongs. A mile is a minimum and 10 furlongs will be his optimum trip, providing he settles.

If Calyx recovers well from whatever ailment caused his early season curtailment then with the terrific ability inherited from his fantastic sire (Kingman) I see only one winner in next year's guineas! However I'm happy to engage in serious debate and my money is already backing me up

This of course is the colts two year old championship and Too Darn Hot was just too good for the others including Anthony Van Dyck (AVD). Mmmm. That reminds me, a certain Dutch footballer, Robin Van Persie (RVP). Anyway, Frankie Dettori and John Gosden, duo of Enable and Golden Horn have finally won a Dewhurst, never won it before this. Joseph O'Brien won the Fillies Mile with Iridessa carrying the Intricately colours of the 2016 Moyglare Stud Stakes winner, just beating Hermosa. Sergei Prokofiev came from last to first to win one of the supporting races of the festival. Oh and Hayley Turner won in a thrilling finish in another Group race, think it was the last race of the whole two day meet.
Well provided he trains on, he looks all over the winner of the first classic next May.
On a flat track would of won by further.
