I would say yes, but…any helicopter with a governor has potential for it to fail. However, rather more sophisticated turbine ones have a plethora of other electronics to catch and manage things for you. Piston heli’s that use Magnetos are more prone right now to mag failures, which is worrying as the Governors directly get their engine rpm reading from there. We’ve seen far poorer build quality and issues with mags lately which causes issues, as I’ve explained in the video which is more likely that the actual governor to fail. Robinson has worked out a fix for new helis but we’re waiting for it to get rolled out for the rest!
