Part 1 - Memorial Day Weekend Camping in Angeles National Forest - Buckhorn, California

With very little time to prepare, our good friends invited us to come up camping for the Memorial Day Weekend at the Buckhorn Campgrounds in Angeles National Forest. It's one of the charms of living in LA, having the National Forest within a 25 minute drive is definitely a special treat. Buckhorn is about an hour from Downtown Los Angeles and at an elevation of 6300ft. This was the first week it had been open for nearly 2 years after a Wild Fire scorched the entire area around it.
This is Part 1 of 2 when we arrive and hang out with all of our friends and survive the first night freezing our butts off.
