I was just on The Diamond in Australia to NZ had to get off 3 times during my cruise for deep cleaning ,they gave us $50 twice to buy lunch ,but back in Melbourne was total KAOS to get back on ship was a nightmare
Good afternoon Doug Parker! I hope you are having a great week. I was really considering a Princess Cruise, however Iam very concerned about the norovirus reports. hmmm.
This happened to us when we went from Adelaide to New Zealand and back via Melbourne. Customs told us to get off for a few hours both on the way in Melbourne and on the way home. We were not impressed. 😮 we've spent time in Melbourne over the years and we had to catch one of their buses into the city. Got dropped near the building which has The Edge, a glass 'lift' which goes out from the building. Even that wasn't open. Surely if there two ships in town they should have been. So on the return from NZ we had to repeat. There was a coffee shop close to the terminal so we just went there and drank coffee. What a waste of time and enjoyment. Nearly put us off Princess. 😊
Guests did not have to leave the ship. Those who remained on the ship while docked, had to move out of cabins for a period of time while cabins had a deep clean, then asked to move back to cabins so public areas could undergo a deep clean. I was on the ship lrading upbto docking and received all the paperwork outlining the instructions about the cleaning process.
Just reading this after getting home from Perth to Darwin 6th / 14th. Nov. Sick from viral infection ( not COVID) from the 3rd day onwards so much coughing staff and passengers. Only left room to eat but topped it off with food poisoning. Husband didn’t eat what I had so he was ok. Medical staff gave needle and drugs. No charge so they knew they had problems with food. 14 days later the virus is worse than before.
