LOVE carna4! I prefer the goat and venison recipes, as they seem to have more meat. I feed 1/2 carna4 and half raw. My dog's coat and skin has never been better. It's because of Carna4 and all the enzymes and probiotics.
Awesome! You have one lucky 🐕 😄 Just curious, with the goat and venison versions, which raw proteins do you feed you Pup? The enzymes and probiotics were a welcome surprise when I researched Carna4. Finally a company who actually seems to understand dog health!
@@HelpYourDogLiveLonger Currently BJ'S Raw, or Dr. Harvey's Raw Vibrance with Chicken or pork. I buy whatever meat is on sale, lol. This stuff gets spendy if I'm not careful!
This is what I’m planning on doing! :) Currently been feeding my dog and cat some raw, but I can’t afford to feed it fully so I was looking for a healthier dry food. Carna4 is actually comparable in price to a lot of the premium Hill’s foods (what I was feeding). I’m excited to see how this will help my animals! They are about middle aged at the moment and no health issues other than the cat being a little overweight.
I would be careful. Any chance of extra inflammation could cause issues for your Pup. With arthritis I'd suggest either low carb or keto. If you need a keto dog food, check out Visionary Pet Food💗🐕 Also, as @s070 suggested, try the green lipped mussels if you haven't already, plus turmeric paste
So what kibble would you suggest. A one hundred percent raw diet is expensive and time consuming. I would like to do a good kibble and partial raw. If you have any suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated. I have a Boerboel puppy.

Hi Erika, sorry for the delayed response. I did not see your comment Issues with a high carb diet for dogs, and senior dogs especially: 🍞Dogs do not need carbs 🍨Excess carbs, especially starchy carbs lead to digestion problems, weight gain, and inflammation 😷Carbs, especially those found in the vast majority of commercial dog foods, are cooked several times at extremely high temperatures. Even a sweet potato, which might be ok if cooked at home, is basically rendered into an insulin-raising, inflammation causing pile of sugar by the time it hits your dogs bowl 💪Excess carb intake, especially 'bad' carbs causes inflammation, which can contribute to joint health, poor GUT health (which leads to more inflammation), and many scientists now believe that excess inflammation is linked to some serious diseases like cancer, heart problems, kidney issues, and cognitive decline 🍗Too many carbs = too much glucose in your dog's blood. Cancer cells LOVE glucose. This is why a ketogenic diet is so often used in dogs with cancer
Thanks for the review. I just started my dogs on Carna4; I used to cook for them but they got sick and the vet said it was because of the home-made food. I am not sure if that’s true: I would love to cook for them again, do you have any recipes I can follow?
Hi Juan, glad to hear you are feeding your pups Carna4 As for homemade dog food making dogs sick... that is absurd. Maybe, if a dog parent used a bad recipe... then there could be problems. Or, if a dog is used to eating kibble (especially the really bad stuff), there could be some GI distress during the transition... My guess would be that your pups had a rough transition, or the recipe you found wasn't up to their standards 😅 Unfortunately, many vets, while amazing at helping sick or injured dogs, are not well schooled in nutrition, and are taught to promote bad brands like Royal Canin, Purina, and Hills (Science Diet). However, dogs don't get sick from eating actual food. They are made to eat meat and fish and fowl. I have been feeding homemade dog food for over 20-years. Millions of people are turning to home cooking for their dogs. Others, thankfully, are using good foods like Carna4 or Simple Food Project. 😀Here is a whole playlist of recipes for you: ruclips.net/p/PLF2qqEZgAqXg3G1T48PbCrdH-XOlUjuSq 😀Any questions, please leave a comment or write us at: SuperSeniorDogHealth@Gmail.com
Hello and thank you for replying. They are a 10-pound mix breed and we’re doing great on home-made food but I went on vacation and one of them got sick. I am not sure if the person cooking the food did something wrong. I was feeding them Turkey, sweet potato, broccoli, carrots, coconut oil, turmeric and flax seed; maybe it was too much I am not sure but Carna4 is a great food and planning to add some ground beef and goring Turkey as a topper.
Yeah, maybe the food wasnt prepared well, or there was some kind of bacteria. Turkey, broccoli, carrots, etc is a great meal plan. Glad to hear you'Re topping the Carna 4 with beef and turkey :)
