They say smoking takes 10 years off your life... I say StumpX takes 10 years off your skid steer's life! Very good video, thanks for keeping the video of the stump cutting itself mostly uncut. that was cool.
That Stumpex is a wicked piece of kit, John. Thanks for sharing it with us. Upstate Brush Control has certainly grown a lot this last year, with all of the new equipment you have got now. Well done, guys. Your success is well deserved.
What I admire about your company is you always are trying new things and learning. You show your wins and your fails. Not scripted hope y'all keep it that way great stuff!!
I retired out of the business a couple years back. I can’t believe I’m watching other people work. 😄. Guess I kind of miss it. Don’t miss the 100* heat though.
You are a skid steer master my friend. I didn't think you would get that huge log up there but you proved me wrong. Those trees will make some nice lumber.
Another great job excellent you and your team know how to get the job done God bless you all keep up the good work I enjoy you all video I stumble on your video by accident can't stop watching 👍👍👍⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎉🎉🎉🎉🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻
Mr. Jon 💪😎 the stump grinder was awesome, made me wish you had a small portable BBQ grill and a few steaks for you and the boys to cook up on using the stump chippings 🥩🥩🥩🫕🫕🫕, Mrs. Jodi great editing 💪👩, well wishes as always to you and the family, until next adventure, stay safe, stay awesome out there everyone 😊👋🍺🍺🧃🧃🧃
First time I have seen one of those Stump Boring Heads. Looks like it is going to Work out very good for You and the Guys. Oh look for a Alignment Bar for lining up those bolt holes. That may just help You out.
I'd love to get a peek at the engineering regarding the StumpEx. If I could make a suggestion? Cutting the stump as low to the ground as possible before starting would help a lot I think. You'd have less stump and you'd hit root/dirt quicker; just a thought. Great video as always. *God bless.*
You have a great machinery for all works and you a good machinist. The Oak tree must extremely old but healthy. If her the job plac to leave is it clean. The video instructive. 🇦🇹
Yeah the stump grinders on the skid steers always are a bit iffy because they don't have a lot of weight or hydraulic power, seen them for back hoes and the likes and they seem a bit less janky and struggle less.
Thanks for video on stump x,boss just bought it and used it on 8 red gum eucalyptus so far so good to see it in action on bigger stumps other than what you find on RUclips
I own a tree company in Florida I've recently heard about the Stump X but have never seen it in action I rely on Bobcats as my primary wood movers so this was very cool to see.
I seen a couple videos using a stump grinder like the stump-x before but, they were much slower. Time wise of digging the stump out would be just a long if not longer and you still have to get rid of the stump. If you are worried about the wear and tear on the 120 go out and buy a older machine just for the stump-x. The stump-x did a good job grinding the stumps up in a timely manner.
UBC and Fecon are a great team. The grinder is so powerful and cool to watch. I don’t know what the view is like from inside the cab, but several times I thought if you inched forward or backward a hair the grinder head would be more perpendicular/ level to grind a straighter path down into the heart of the stump, especially on smaller stumps. Has Fecon thought about placing a large visible level on the black motor casing so the operator can watch the level bubble? Seems that would do the trick…if it’s even needed. Maybe I am overthinking the process. 😁 Another fine job by Jon, Josh, Willie and Micah!
I agree with Robbins Trucking. That seems really tough on a machine your using for multitasking. Seems like lots of possible accelerated pin and boom wear. Great video!
Ditto; we had a 20 x 40 inground; they're expensive, and lots of time/$ to maintain. They're like a somewhat bigger boat. The best days of owning one is the day you buy it, and the day you sell it.
I agree. Stupid money people. They can obviously afford a better architect that could have taken that majestic red oak into consideration when designing the site. The pool was probably an after thought. Again, stupid money. We are only stewards of the land while in our possession.
I think at times there was too much down pressure applied to the StumpEx. If you just let it eat, it shouldn't twist the loader arms. Patience is the key. You ground a 36" stump in 20 minutes I'd say you pushed it really hard even though you were very methodical with your approach.
Personally, I prefer the vertical 'Wheel' type although I find it tends to be what the customer is doing with the land afterwards and the size of the 'stump' compared to the size of the 'cutter'. In your case the 'stump' was bigger than the 'cutter' - always a problem. In our Country you would have been welcomed at any mill with that Oak (branches and all), in fact they would probably have come and cut it down personally and taken it away, plus they would have paid you a very good price per cube for it. An Oak 40" at the base of the trunk is a very desirable tree, - Why, - Every single one in our Country (UK) has a 'preservation' order on it now.
That grinder did a nice job on the main stump but if I see a disadvantage it would be in chasing the roots out away from the stump, especially on the big ones like you had there. A conventional grinder may make it easier to chase those big roots.
That was AMAZING & mesmerizing, too! What happens next? Would you mulch with it? Do you sell it to a garden company? Would a large commercial company use it?
I think that's the first time I've seen you faceplant the skid steer like that. That had to be an odd feeling. That is one wicked stump grinder though. The way it walks the whole skid steer sideways just wow. It made an impressively easy job of that give stump. I don't know if you were, but I would continuously put forward pressure on that left track since that's the direction that stump grinder wants to walk the ASV. It might help prevent that torque walk.
Such a professional, stand up guy. You seem like good people, keep up the good work. And careful putting all that weight on the landing gear; trailer might sink into the ground and will be hard to hook up to the truck.
Enjoyed the video! Beautiful oak, those burls would be excellent for the wood turners workshops, watch a few of those and they make beautiful things with scrap wood. You guys always do such a good job!
Whooa .the shake on the asv 😭, felt bad for the rt-120. Glad it worked out in the end 😁, hope the rt-120 is ok. Keep up the good work and keep em coming John 👍.
Decided to give you a look and see what you are all about. I like what I see. If that was only the 2nd time you used that grinder and it only took 15 minutes to take that stump that size out I’d you did a good job young man. Nice clean job site to.
Nice grinder. You may even do better cutting if you had a guy with a steel rake to clear the hole. Seems like it slows when it is swamped in chips, plus you can see better..
Hey jon! Couple of tips for you! 1 plz wear your chaps! Your legs/ knees well thank you! Trust me i know! 2. When bucking size wood like that or bigger have at least 2 wedges with ! You can use them to keep your saw from getting stuck! 3 . On your logtrailer look at a trailer from the pnw! On our bunks thier is a peice of iron on the bottom of ours! Its thier to help keep your load of logs from moving or shifting ! The knives as thuer called help with it they cut into the logs enough so they dont move as easly. Trust me im nit sorried about your driving its the folks out thier in 4 wheelers that i am a hard breaking while hauling logs is not fir the fainted heart. And all yhe saftey you can take the better bro! Br safe
with a vertical lift skidder would help keeping it straight going down, you were tending to arc it. use a leaf blower to clear out the cuttings on a video, it would look cool to see a big hole drilled thru the center of a stump.
WOW! What a beast that FECON GRINDER was and the first spot you picked was spot on! or was that YOUR talent? Glad you didn't speed the video up cuz this thing was great to watch and we don't get to see those used! Also, that ASV picked up those logs like a school kid with a pencil. Great video, JOHN! Thanks! Sonny
Hiiii my friend John !!! Next is an up-rooter one shank for the mini that will help !!! Also look up the "Diamond bush destructor " in the hands of your team it should make wonder !!! Best regards guys and take care keep safe !!!
That stump grinder is an absolute beast!
And that's wet red oak!!
That stump grinder is very controlled in the sense that it doesn't send debris all over the place. Good for sensitive areas.
They say smoking takes 10 years off your life... I say StumpX takes 10 years off your skid steer's life! Very good video, thanks for keeping the video of the stump cutting itself mostly uncut. that was cool.
OMG that Red Oak is beautiful !
Murdered for a STINKING POOL!!!
That Stumpex is a wicked piece of kit, John. Thanks for sharing it with us. Upstate Brush Control has certainly grown a lot this last year, with all of the new equipment you have got now. Well done, guys. Your success is well deserved.
John, it’s just me,I would have loaded the back of the trailer first to keep the landing legs from digging in.👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
John I’m so impressed by your two men crew. They work so cohesively together. I love it. They always helping out each other.
A sign of good teaching, kindness, fairness.
That’s a gorgeous log. Good furniture wood.
What I admire about your company is you always are trying new things and learning. You show your wins and your fails. Not scripted hope y'all keep it that way great stuff!!
The word "Torque" comes to mind. Powerful stuff!
I was crying as they were cutting up that perfectly straight log into smaller pieces.
Impressive stump grinder, made fast work of stumps, thanks for sharing and inviting me to watch.
.
Thanks for watching!
I retired out of the business a couple years back. I can’t believe I’m watching other people work. 😄. Guess I kind of miss it. Don’t miss the 100* heat though.
We're loving this cooler weather right now for sure!
its a lot of fun to do that JOHN LOVED
Man, that is one heck of a beast! That hydraulic motor must be absolutely crazy. Fun to watch that thing eat stumps!
You are a skid steer master my friend. I didn't think you would get that huge log up there but you proved me wrong. Those trees will make some nice lumber.
Awesome equipment buddy!!! Dang it man!!! Having your own log trailer is awesome!!! You can get a load and run it yourself! Every dollar counts!
That attachment is awesome guys 🇮🇪🚜😎🤠🦸🖍️
Wow, that was a big stump. Awesome stump cutter!! Thanks for sharing!!
That Stump-Ex is a seriously sinister tool! Thanks for sharing!
There is something hypnotic about watching that stump ex work. Great job especially as far down you went. Second time watching this video.
I shared this with the guys at McDonald’s they were amazed!
Watching your machine run that stump x solidifies my decision to buy that style stump grinder.
Glad to see you pushing it to its limits
Gringing the stumps was fascinating my great grand son liked it also.stay safe
John y'all are 💯 AWESOMENESS another 5 ⭐ video loved it 💯 God bless y'all keep'em coming see y'all next time.
Thank you! Will do!
I don't have enough need of one to buy one, but that stump grinder was awesome to watch. Looks like it did a good job.
Thanks!
I would like to have seen the mulcher going over the stumps after they were bored.
Josh has a GREAT smile! 😃
thats impressive the amount of torque that machine puts out, fecon is no joke
First time I have seen one of those Stump Boring Heads. Looks like it is going to Work out very good for You and the Guys. Oh look for a Alignment Bar for lining up those bolt holes. That may just help You out.
That was extremely satisfying
Man! That Stumpex puts out some torque to moving that 11,000 lbs RT120F around! Great Video! Keep up the good work.
That's an awesome stump grinder! Low gear after into the stump.
33:25 Just had my stumps removed last week. The results were amazing!
I'd love to get a peek at the engineering regarding the StumpEx. If I could make a suggestion?
Cutting the stump as low to the ground as possible before starting would help a lot I think. You'd
have less stump and you'd hit root/dirt quicker; just a thought. Great video as always. *God bless.*
He did not cut those trees. A tree company came in to cut them. John won't cut trees that close to a house, specially one being built.
@@yeagerxp // I know Jon said as much, but he still has the option of removing more of the stump before using the StumpEx doesn't he?
@@DanKoning777 You are correct. It is Sunday the brain is on neutral. LOL . Be safe
@@yeagerxp // :) No problem at all, have a great Lords day. God bless!
I wonder if a finer leading edge on the cutter might make the cutting go a bit easier, maybe some WD40 to keep the sap away?
That stump grinder did a good job❗️✝️❤️🙏
You have a great machinery for all works and you a good machinist. The Oak tree must extremely old but healthy. If her the job plac to leave is it clean. The video instructive. 🇦🇹
Great job John, soon made short work of those stumps. Liking your log trailer, very nice. All the very best Graham🇬🇧🇬🇧👍👍
Nice work! That stump grinder is a beast!
Definitely a machine fit for the task great quality mulch for fire llighter or compost. Love thte big flakes its shaving...
It did look rough on your skid steer but that grinding sound was amazing! Great job fella's!
Yeah the stump grinders on the skid steers always are a bit iffy because they don't have a lot of weight or hydraulic power, seen them for back hoes and the likes and they seem a bit less janky and struggle less.
Great work as usual. That stump grinder was a lot of fun to watch!!!
The stump grinder did a good job and as always you and your crew does really good work and make it look a lot better.
Looks like those stump grinding shavings would make excellent smoker chips.
Great job guy’s …👍👍👍
That stump X is phenomenal beast! Once again, great job y’all! Upstate Brush Control Crew rides again!!!
I seen a couple videos using a stump grinder like the stump-x before but, they were much slower. If you are worried about the wear and tear on the 120 go out and buy a older machine just for the stump-x.
The stump-x did a good job grinding the stumps up in a timely manner.
As someone who has farmed and understands how much of a bane stumps are to a farmer (and his equipment) this was oddly satisfying.
Great job with a powerful machine.

Great video John! Thank you!
Man the amount of torque that puts on that boom
Second stump grind filming and editing was way better than the first stump in this vid. Good job!👍
Fecon grinder did well . That was a big stump !
Looks like the grinder is hard on your boom pins side to side will wear pins quickly nice video 🤞
I agree with Robbins Trucking. That seems really tough on a machine your using for multitasking. Seems like lots of possible accelerated pin and boom wear. Great video!
Too weak!!
I Would have rather looked out my widow and see that big oak. Not a swimming pool. Oh well everyone has priority’s.
Ditto; we had a 20 x 40 inground; they're expensive, and lots of time/$ to maintain. They're like a somewhat bigger boat.
The best days of owning one is the day you buy it, and the day you sell it.
Love our pool for generations. My daughter loves it now.
👍 AGREED 👍 WHAT A WASTE. X(
I can't believe they had that beautiful tree removed. Significantly reduced property value
I agree. Stupid money people. They can obviously afford a better architect that could have taken that majestic red oak into consideration when designing the site. The pool was probably an after thought. Again, stupid money. We are only stewards of the land while in our possession.
Great job, man, that thing has torque!

Good morning from Piqua Ohio. Have a safe labor day weekend.
That stump-x is an absolute beast 😱😱😱
Wow on that auger thing. Good, Thx
That grinder did a nice job on the main stump but if I see a disadvantage it would be in chasing the roots out away from the stump, especially on the big ones like you had there. A conventional grinder may make it easier to chase those big roots.
Very true ,another disadvantage is if the stump has rot in the heartwood and sapwood it makes it very hard to bore into the stump
I'm pretty sure a smaller version of this grinder was used by my dentist on me last year for a root canal.
Awesome job guys
That tree was a wood turners dream.
That was AMAZING & mesmerizing, too! What happens next? Would you mulch with it? Do you sell it to a garden company? Would a large commercial company use it?

Man I got to say bro tht stump grinder is a must.it gets the job done.like you said time is money and that's no ****
Good stuff John give Willy hell for me🤣💯👍🏼
Wow! Super interesting machine.
That’s a wicked stump cutter!!!
Enjoyed the show
Great Video I'll watch it twice.
They find the inner beauty of the wood’s design.
Thanks for the great video, awesome job 👍
Thanks for watching!
I don't think you would want to run any smaller machine on that stumpex, lot of torque!
Great video really enjoyed it,at least y’all had some fun .keep doing what your doing and carry on.👍👍👍😎😎😎
Whooa .the shake on the asv 😭, felt bad for the rt-120. Glad it worked out in the end 😁, hope the rt-120 is ok. Keep up the good work and keep em coming John 👍.

Great video. The house kind of looks like a miniature version of the abandoned mansion on Demolition Ranch (Off the Ranch). LOL
Great job and video like always
with a vertical lift skidder would help keeping it straight going down, you were tending to arc it. use a leaf blower to clear out the cuttings on a video, it would look cool to see a big hole drilled thru the center of a stump.
I was hoping you'd blow the debris away between grindings.
Awesome piece of kit
Need a good ‘ole 70’s era blue McCullough bow saw for sum t’hose logs
thanks for sharing a great video the grinder works pretty good but I'm wondering what happens when you hit a big rock probably game over
super video,bonne journée a toute l 'équipe..
Nice job with the stump grinder!
