Bon bagay !!! belle fusion qui met en évidence un rythme traditionnel haitien. Le tambour au rythme du rara se marie fort bien à la guitare électrique ..
: Eddy Bourjolly (guitar), Gashford Guillaume (drums) Gene Torres (bass), Ted Cruz (Rhodes), Jean Mary Brignol, Ernst Blanc Jr & Morgan Zwerlein (Haitian drums).
Also Horowizard, when it comes to the drum kit, it is more playing as a unit "inside" of the traditional drums. Those three different drummers are playing three different parts an is more of a traditional setting. The key to the drumset is the hihat and ride pattern. The pattern is called "Fe" (e sound is e in pEn). That along with the kick plays a crucial role to holding those rhythms together. After that, the fills come out as needed. The Haitian drums are more dominant here and you don't want to step on their toes. The drummer keeps this in mind while playing and the levels were mixed accordingly. FYI.
I get that the focus is the combination of Drums but for my taste some more Ride Cymbal wouldn't hurt, as I'm very familiar with the composition. I see he's playing on it but I don't hear it well. The Hi Hat is fine but I like a nice defined Ride Cymbal. It gives more Air to a mix.
Hey Frapzoid, we adapted the Haitian rhythm of "Rara" to the music. It's a festive type of Haitian carnival music. If you don't know what it sounds like, you would think the song is too fast yet this is the energy we wanted to set. Each of those Haitian drums play a role. Overall the object is to make people dance. Look up the music to get a better idea. Here is a sample. ruclips.net/video/fPXnSaPAu6o/видео.html

Great! Hey Gene Torres, I see you there on Bass.. Who are the other players here?
(I wouldn't have minded a little more of the Drum Kit in the mix.)

This had so much potential. Only thing wrong is that it's played way too fast!
