- This film shows the sport of rallycross that was just starting to grow in popularity in 1969. Not only does it feature some of rally's big names of the time, including Hannu Mikkola and Roger Clark, but there are also a number of incredibly rare Ford Capri 4x4s competing. These cars were only built for evaluation purposes, and used the Fergusson 4x4 system as fitted to the Jensen FF. In addition, there is a small amount of a Formula Ford race held as part of the same event, and a children's pedal car race. This is a period film with a hallmark late 60s music track -- one for the 60s devotees and motorsport fans.
LOVE THE MK1 CAPRIS AND THE FUNKY MUSIC NICE ONE
Love the pedal cars bet that was fun for all the kids
A 4x4 mk1 Capri, I would love to get my hands on one of those. Would make a nice historic rally car. 3.2 with triple webbers should overcome the transmission drag!!!
Interesting this occurred in Italy at the time. I don't think it ever caught on there, and isn't really popular today. Not enough rain! :>)
I WISHD ID HAD CAPRI AND TWINCAM ESCORT SOME DAY MODELD HANNU MIKKOLA AND TIMO MAKINEN
i think the 4wd capris had a ferguson system and a DAF variomatic transmission withh 300bhp
5:06 "man made humps for yumping?"
Interesting that the letter j is originally, from the Latin, a consonant i pronounced like a y. Hence Julius, in Latin, Yoolius. So jumping - 'yumping' in Rome.
cant be 69 maybe 79
It's 69.
Tufte Motorsport ah, I mistook the Mk.2 Cortina for a Mk.2 Escort
Ah, right!
Nice vid! We have a capri 4x4 Fergusson, my mum used to bring me to school in it when I was a child :)
Lol, just noticed it's uploaded by FordHeritage, so the car is with you, take car of it!
