There are many other great brands with Chelsea boots too Wolverine, Redwing, RM Williams, Jim Green, Oak Street, Redback, Danner, Ariat, Parkhurst, Nick's, Viberg, Unmarked, Meermin, Benzein, etc. Prices are obviously all over the map depending on what you want.....starting from about $100 for the Wolverine up past $1000 for Viberg in shell.
Thank you. I just found your channel and it's an instant subscribe. It's brilliant to see your deep dives based on quality, functionality aswell as look.
Just to note, for a few bucks more than what the Allen Edmonds cost. You can get an amazing pair of Carmina Chelsea’s. That’s more of a dress up boot, but the quality is unmatched for the price. Great Video 👍🏼
Another option to rugged style is Jim Green. Also take a look to “Siete Leguas” Boots in México, more towards to cowboy/charro style, but they have interesting leathers options such as Lefarc Tanery. Regards from México!
I've never bought any Chelsea boots because I fear that they won't fit well. I have an issue with boots in that I wear a 4E and almost always have to size up and go down to a 2E as 4E is very, very uncommon. As such I either get a boot that is slightly too tight in the vamp and at the ball of the foot or one that is slightly too loose in the heel. I just think these things would flop around all over my foot, lol. With lace up boot I can just tie them tighter.
Blundstones lie: they are not made in Tasmania, Australia. Most of their boot production were move to cheaper labor countries in Asia. Redbacks Chelsea is a true Australian Chelsea, better, more comfortable. Ps. Great video. Chelseas ars geeat!
@@BeastMadeReviews correct. Their headquarters are in Australia. But it is deceiving that they still proudly stamp the "Tasmania" logo on the boot. I just learned about this online. Some Australians are upset at this because they use the country's name but took the jobs elsewhere to save on costs of labor. Nothing wrong with Vietnam, so I rather see something like: design in "Tasmania, made in Vietnam." Like what Apple does. Just for the sake of transparency. Redbacks are similar priced, more comfortable and made in Australia. I recommend them :)
Yeah I agree. I actually thought the same thing when I first saw them. I think it’s a tricky topic. I bet they are proud to represent Tasmania-I can’t think of many worldwide brands from there. But it is confusing.
Thanks. Hoping you would also review Meermin and Beckett Simonon. They offer great value at their price points. Wonder what your thoughts on those would be.
Surprised that Beckett Simonon didn't make the list; ~$300 made to order from Bogota so there is a bit of a wait. Preston and Bolton for dress (full grain leather) and Silvas for everyday wear (pullup leather; I use these as rain boots). Those ranch boots from Taylor Stitch look nice and chunky but only in D width.
Instead of Blundstone which are not made in Australia any longer, get yourself Redback boots which are keeping the heritage of making their shoes in Australia and they're more comfortable and better quality.
Why NOT Chelseas? Here's my answer. The 1st and only pair I ever bought, Thursdays, have a heel that directs pressure toward the toes. Without the support of laces, the foot is forced toward the toes, scrunching up the toes in the toe of the shoe. Result: sore toes after a day of wearing. After wearing them 3 times I'm about to donate them to the thrift store. Maybe other Chelseas are different; that's my experience with the Thursdays. BTW I have 6 other pair of Thursdays and love them all.
@@BeastMadeReviews yes!!! Did a great job with the jeans in video, but the hardest part being new to Chelsea’s is what to wear it with. I bought the dark brown shiny leather Cavaliers from Thursday wanting to recreate the RM Williams look but when I tried with cuffed jeans and a t shirt it looked like it didn’t work with the casual outfit 😢
English boot's from Trickers, Crockett and Jones, Cheaney are as good as it gets, a best kept secret, Ian Harold as an alternative to RM Williams i sold my RM Williams on eBay when i bought Ian Harold Chelsea boots, better made and cheaper
14:45 Sadly its not true that Allen Edmonds is the company of their past. They have been gutted like 3 times from Vulture Capital companies. Theres so much synthetic materials in their boots just to sell out for more cash... Not to mention the use of questionable labor in Dominican Republic.. Same with Thorogood, and many other "American" companies. customers need to demand the use to real all leather materials or dont buy from them...
MOST IF NOT ALL OF THE BOOTS LOOK THE SAME ON THE OUT SIDE.!! IT'S WHAT THET PUT IN THEM CORK, LEATHER SUB SOLE LEATHER LINING AND A LEATHER INSOLE. I LIKE THAT GUY THAT CUTS THEM IN HALF AND GET DOWN TO THE NITTY GRITTY ON WHERE YOU BE SPENDING YOUR MONEY,
Of course. They're trying to make shoes that look like a timeless design. All the shoes I mention here are great chelseas. Some are made better than others. You get what you pay for. But not everyone wants or needs to spend $600+ on premium boots. Sometimes you just need a good bargain. That's why I mention several.
I'm not sure what you mean. Thursdays are definitely inexpensive, but I never said they were low quality. However, they definitely are not high quality. They're a great boot for the price.

I wear Chelseas with suits; a black pair with my charcoal suit, an oxblood pair with my navy suit.
Agree with Paka socks - their alpaca socks, shirts and sweaters are high quality and absolutely worth the price.

Thank you! I've wanted to try those for that reason. I'll try to get a review going.
@@BeastMadeReviews i can’t wait! If you can go to the store in NYC it will be even better. GL
Great video breaking down the history of Chelsea boots. I love Chelsea boots. They are easy to put on and they are very versatile.
Thanks for watching!

There are shoemaker companies that make boots that are made based on the sizing issue information that you provide.
Blundstones lie: they are not made in Tasmania, Australia. Most of their boot production were move to cheaper labor countries in Asia. Redbacks Chelsea is a true Australian Chelsea, better, more comfortable.

BLundstone says their boots are made in Vietnam. But the company is located in Tasmania.

Take a look at Bordon handmade boots Isidro Chelsea's they are fantastic!
awsome video as usual 💥
Thanks again!
RM Williams or Crockett & Jones for me
I have a pair of rm Williams Chelsea that I love. Very comfortable and look great. Might try a pair of grant stone Chelsea in black next.
Thanks. Hoping you would also review Meermin and Beckett Simonon. They offer great value at their price points. Wonder what your thoughts on those would be.
I'll check them out! I've had them on my radar for a while
With the elastic they should have the top closed in and you have to pull it open to put your feet in and that way they would more snug around the leg.
Thursday Legends are better then the Cavaliers.
A Chelsea review without RM Williams? Get yourself a pair of comfort craftsmen and see what you’ve been missing.
I'll check them out!
Guess I’m not watching
Great video! Love Chelsea boots - new subscriber!
Thanks for subbing!

There are hundreds of brands that could be in this video. I wasn't trying to make an exhaustive list. This video was already pretty long.
Instead of Blundstone which are not made in Australia any longer, get yourself Redback boots which are keeping the heritage of making their shoes in Australia and they're more comfortable and better quality.

yeah, that's a unique experience. I've never had that happen with pair I've owned. I would definitely try on some more pairs!
Get a different pair it wounds like those aren't the right fit. Perfectly fitting chelsea boots are the most comfortable boots you can get.
Could be the fit or the brand or style of toe.
Blundstone are made in Asia. Redback chelsea boots are still made in Australia.
I was hoping you’d actually show ways to style the Chelsea’s. That’s the hardest part
do you mean what clothes to wear with Chelseas?
@@BeastMadeReviews yes!!! Did a great job with the jeans in video, but the hardest part being new to Chelsea’s is what to wear it with. Redback Chelsea Boot company makes combat boots for the Australian army.

I'm not sure what you mean. Thursdays are definitely inexpensive, but I never said they were low quality. However, they definitely are not high quality. They're a great boot for the price.
Want high quality, get some RM Williams.
