What we really need to understand here is that Carlitos Alcaraz is not just going to be the multi-time champion of this generation, but with the attitude he has, he is going to be the face of Tennis for the times to come. He will take this sport to levels never seen before. I'm not even talking about his technical prowess. That's a different ball game.

He didn’t do it out of showmanship though. Alcaraz’s shot clipped the net cord, which caused Sonego to overrun it because the ball came slower, so he improvised a tweener just to get a shot in play instead of having to rush backwards around it for a forehand that he probably would’ve missed.

Sonego played much better than I've seen him play in the past. Hopefully he continues to play this elevated level of tennis going forward.
The camaraderie that Alcaraz displays with his opponents as exemplified here at 5:40, is one of the things that endear him to his fans (at least to me). Even though recently I've come to think of Sinner as more capable of winning against big opponents compared to Alcaraz, I like the spirit Alcaraz displays on the court.

Alcaraz's attitude is the cherry on top of what could put his elite skill & talent at the very tip top of the heap of all times. Novac's one negative throughout his career was he was never really "win the crowd". So even though his numbers put him in 1st place all time many still prefer Federer or nadal as the best as they factor in "winning the crowd". Its similar to the Jordan over Labron effect.
