  • Hello scrappers and planet lovers. In this video, I will show you all the free copper, stainless steel, tin, brass, and other metals that can be found when scrapping a juicer. I will show you how to safely and effectively identify and separate the metals in order to help maximize your profit and divert as much of the material away from the landfill as possible.

    The black bars on the universal motors are not ferrite rods but carbon brushes.

    Scrapping has become my favorite hobby/ side hustle. Your videos are extremely helpful in choosing what's to take, what to tear apart and what's inside a lot of stuff I encounter. It's become almost an obsession lol.
    Against my better judgment, I scrapped my %40 wire. I'm holding out for a price increase going forward as they haven't budged. $0.75/lb US on it. Had a 50 lb tub. Guess I'll need a second tub if I fill it again and they still don't move on it
    Thx for all you do.

      40% wire just went up to $1.87 from yesterday in London. Crazy prices right now for #2 copper. Obsession for me too. Picked up an old stove tonight as taking daughter to Girl Guides. Just shows you can find scrap any day of the week. Happy scrapping

    I also grab vacuums. I just wish we had a recycling program. So much waste goes to the landfill.

      I totally agree. Yup I do set out a lot of plastic each week, but at least I can recycle the metals and prevent some of the materials from ending up in the landfill.

    should aluminum windings be kept separate from other aluminum?

    • @TinManScrapper
      @TinManScrapper  4 месяца назад

      Scratch the wire. There are wires that look like aluminum but just have a coating and are in fact copper. Aluminum wire from road to meter and other thicker aluminum wire that is in some houses are classified as 1S wire and are $1.40lb in London. Keep separate from regular aluminum that is only about 45 cents a pound.

    Does slightly magnet stainless count as non magnetic stainless ?

    • @TinManScrapper
      @TinManScrapper  4 месяца назад

      I will say that depends on the scrapyard and how much you have. if it is a bbq lid for example, a lot of times it is a small tin shell under the stainless steel that is causing the attraction and just needs to be removed. But again if very little magnetic attraction you should be fine, it check to see if it is a bolt or screw or something that can simply be removed
