The main problem with any vehicle using hellfires is well , they do not oneshot whatever they hit in the sky while in comparison the Kamovs and Hunters will kill anything they see on sight in the sky and that is the biggest downfall to them , a Kamov can survive the attack , a Viper/Apache will not survive the attack. Overall tho it is a very good helicopter to use .

In Real Life, just this March the AH-1Z was integrated with the AGM-179 JAGM. The AGM-179 JAGM is more or less a Hellfire descendant with two seekers, including laser guidance AND a millimeter wave radar seeker. This makes it fire and forget. No Longbow radar involved. No late Hellfire variants (which for some reason never got integrated on AH-1Z, any of the previous F&F variants). But, AGM-179. So whenever they add widespread F&F, AH-1Z is ready.
Just here to pay homage to one of my Marines. He was the one that told me about this game and revealed that this aircraft specifically was modeled after one of our aircraft at our unit. BUNO number confirmed. RIP Everett and big respect to HMLAT-303.
The thing about hellfires that most people don't appreciate is that unlike the Vikhers, the missile does not need to stay between the helicopter and the target to track.
That’s more of a downside to me, the missile does not work very well with manual track and it has quite some minimum engagement range due to the trajectory
@Tims Variety The Cobras can be separated into two separate related families: the original, single-engine Cobra design (-G, -Q, -S, -P, and -F models), and the twin-engine “Sea Cobra/Super Cobra”s, originally developed for the USMC (-J, -T, -W, and -Z models). The USMC required two engines because of requirements to be able to make it back to the amphibious mothership on a damaged engine.
Positioning, positioning, positioning. When I first got top tier helicopters, I simply could not do what Hunter does with the same machine. So I went on a spiritual journey, of spawning them at the start of the match and acting as an ASF against other helicopters, notably Kamovs. The Stingers didn't always work, but the gun did. For a little while I trained the enemy Kamovs to actually be good players... they became quite scary to avoid my killing them. However, through my trials and tribulations of anti-helicopter work, I learned most of the maps from an outside standpoint. Now, I can position super well and kill ground targets successfully.
My chief complaint about the top American helis is the Hellfires, not just because of their quirky behavior, but also because they seem to lack almost 5 kg of explosive mass according to every source I’ve seen Funnily enough, never seen a source that says they should have 3.1/3.3 kg, yet that’s how much they get in game
I dont like how the hellfires are shorter range yet at the same BR as the KA-50 with 10km range. I hope gaijin adds the Longbow hellfires or 10km range hellfires soon to all the apaches and the AH-1Z.
@@fire_drake12.arc.24 The funny thing is, the Hellfires ALWAYS have 8km of range. No matter your altitude, air speed, or the actual velocity of the missile, it will just explode once it reaches 8km from point of launch. Even if the missile could continue gliding to the target, Gaijin would rather it just explode for no particular reason, despite Hellfires using a ballistic path specifically for the reason of extra range. (And top down attack)
There's a new sistem that in one hour I got 63k RP with the peten and a 300+ booster It's unlimited respawn and PVE And if you use a 400 SL booster you can get 70k SL each 10minutes if you kill lots of ground units and bases. Last time I did it I got 350k SL and 60k RP
Did we fly the same helicopter? The AH-1Z flies worse than the AH-1S Kisarazu, slower and with worse collective. The Ah-64, which should be slower and is heavier, two engines with the same power for both choppers, is ingame faster and the collective is better. The flight model is bugged badly. It cannot reach its stat card max speed
The meta has left the helicopter behind. It can't defend itself against a plane that isn't flying straight at it, it doesn't have radar to identify threats before they're on top of it. It's fine in a ground attack role, but the Ka-50 made it obsolete a long time ago. I've unlocked this, the ka52, and the Ah64d. The AH64D is better at killing ground targets, but the ka52 is still the best helicopter in the game bc it can't fuck with air targets better than even the MLD
The ah1z sorely needs aim9m which is basically identical to L but with flare residence and jamming resistance which it NEEDS fighting everything with flares which make its aams more useless than stingers, would but it on par with the new chinese heli

AH-1Z is definitely better than the most russian helicopters but it pretty crappy compared to a Ka-52 or Mi-28 but remember the grind to get the viper is pretty low compared to the russian top tier helos a few vietnam era helicopters while only one of them takes 390k and then you just go for the AH-1Z, but the grind for russian helos is probably the most painful one among all other nations directly after the first Mi-24 you have to grind 4-5 crap helos for 390-400k each before you get to the top tier ones the previous ones got horrible anti tank missiles and the hinds manouver like bricks and dont have target assistance.
How do you use the "auto tracking" feature. Its the box with the circle reticle when your in the shooter atgm view. I have been researching for hours and haven't found any way to select or use it
It depends on how many buttons you have. I have a mouse with the forward, backward, mouse wheels left and right, and two additional buttons. I use XBMC so map different function depending on how long their held. There is a lot to heli controls, but the most helpful thing is to make mouse wheel forward activate and lock your laser designator. That, by itself, will make u into a gunslinger.
would you suggest this over the ah64D? and do hellfires still track once you shoot another? thought the first one stops tracking/following the laser so you have to send one at a time
Tricky question. Both are pretty good overall. With the hellfires - you can launch more than one at a time, but they are laser guided and you can only lock your laser on one thing at a time, so they'll all be going in on the same target. That isn't a bad thing, and firing for a double-tap is generally an on-meta tactic.
Can the weapon system guide several missiles at the same time, like the ka-50? Aka firing several rockets at once to increase destruction chance of enemy target?
This Helo ain’t good at the PVE game mode, remember KA 50s also rearm mid flight, are faster, have two KM more range with their rockets and your hellfire flys much longer anyways… In PvE you need to rush like hell to see some points and KA50s are better in any way shape or form, so don’t expect much to do in Helicopter PvE if you don’t fly a Ka50!
The AH-1Z is the perfect mobile SPAA unit. Treat it as such. The speed gets you out of the spawn faster than the Apaches and this can save you from the Ka-50 spam. I always take mine to just out of AA range of the enemy heli spawn and act like a murder hornet eating honey bees. I butcher the Kamon spammers. Screw going after ground units, most get to safety before the missile hits and the rest are almost always hit by something else. Why bother? My kill/death is almost exclusively helicopters with a sprinkle of Mig-27's. The Apache Stinger weapons suck, you can't lock a Russan heli anyway and the Stinger sucks against jets too (in this game anyway) so why bother? Bring the AH-1Z and butcher jets, the AIM-9L will not miss. The Hellfire are perfect at close range against the Kamov spam. The one catch are the cheaters, the LWR tells them they're being painted by laser but not direction and any normal player will assume the laser is from an Apache from the across the battlefield. I do get the cheaters that make a sudden 180 and fire at me even though I'm out of audio range and again, LWR are not directional. Meh, they rarely have enough time anyway.
The LWR usually indicates, with the outer ring, where the missile is coming from, but only when the missile is launched. The indication is very subtle, tiny missile symbols in the outer ring, pointing at the general direction. It is comparable to tanks with LWR, which does the same, just around the part of the hud, that shows which modules of your tank are damaged. It might be different for the Kamovs etc. since I can only refer to the TAM 2C and TIGER UHT. So the cheaters may be the people who keep an eye on that, while the others have no idea about that subtle indication. I‘ll take another look at it soon, since I‘m not 100% sure.

You can also easily defeat them by raising your collective. Hellfires struggle to account for sudden course corrections.
Well they do oneshot
