Rob Arnold has to be one of the most grounded nice dudes in metal surely. He comes across like the really enthusiastic guy at your local music shop who just so happens to have created some of the greatest metal grooves in living history. I think he deserves a power trip.
So happy and thankful that we get the opportunity to see you guys live. I discovered Chimaira in 2019, and have been listening everyday since. Best band I’ve ever listened to. Period. Best guitar riffs, and best breakdowns. Nobody goes as hard as Chimaira and I don’t think any band ever will. Chimaira will always be the kings.
I discovered them in 2020, a coworker at the shop I was working at had Pandora playing music and “Power Trip” came on. After that it was downhill from there. Are they planning on touring again? Edit: Watching a RUclips video in its entirety *before* asking questions is not required but appreciated 🏆 👊🏼
Chimaira are definitely the G.O.A.T.!!! A few other bands you might also enjoy if you haven't already discovered them are: "Soreption" from Sweden, "Obscura" from Germany, and last but not least is a band called "Revocation" from Boston, Massachusetts. I always like to mention "Children of Bodom" too haha, but the other bands I listed above share more similarities with Chimaira than C.O.B. do. \\m//
I’m so glad to hear you guys are getting back together, well most of you anyway. Even if it’s just for a few shows. Hopefully you guys will put out a new record. I wish Andols was joining you. I heard he’s been sick and hasn’t been feeling well enough to play these past few years. Hopefully he’ll get better. I’m praying for him. Wishing you guys nothing but success.
Cool video Rob so happy to hear chimaira coming back for the live shows you guys were the best. After hearing down again on TV I bought the impossibly of reason and was completely blown away and I've been a fan ever since then. I still hope you guys make new music one day but it's so cool to still see you guys come back and do these reunion shows 🙏🤘💙
I was just watching a Chimiara gig that took place months ago in 2023. In all sincerity I don't think any of you skipped a beat. Super tight, Heavy, Professional level gig. In closing I concur with as it pertains to your guitar rig. A throw and go guitar and or bass rig is the way to go. There's no need for a ton of superfluous junk. When Chimiara has always been a meat and potatoes in your face Heavy Metal band.
It's great! How I've missed you all these years! With your return, there is a sense of joy and power. You are one of the best bands✊ I hope you create a new album 💪💪💪
ESP M-II and 6505+ represent! 🤙 I've always found a little bit of that black packing sponge (you get with pedals, computer parts, etc) cut into shape and slotted just after the nut gets rid of that post chug whistle! Best of luck on this upcoming show. Would kill to be there.
I was the promoter when you guys played Boise, ID with Lamb of God, 18 visions, and Atreyu. You guys where all super nice and easy to work with. Thanks for being awesome and not having “the art of grumpy” attitude!
Ugh man ..one of my all time metal favorites .. miss those Chimaira days .. great music great live shows .. hopefully one day we can enjoy you guys live again
Man life is good. About to see CHIMAIRA. first time ever. Husband has seen 4x. When we were kids i tried to borrow his Chimaira Impossibility of Reason maroon windbreaker. He gave me Fear Factory’s hoodie and that made me 😊😂. Side note bummed Andols won’t be performing but know DD drummer kicks ass on drums. Hope Andols is doing well.
I just bought my first Evertune equipt guitar. A 2015 ESP Ltd Mh-1000ET in Black. Looks just like the one you have hanging behind you! Should be here Wednesday. Im so damn excited. I can't wait to 'just play' and stop worring about being in tune. Been watching your videos in preparation for this big moment. Stay Cool Man.
Awesome man! I know you're going to love it! The one you saw behind me is a 2014, and I've actually got a new video coming out soon featuring a 2017 MH-1000ET! Stay tuned!🎸
Gave me chills hearing those riffs, took me back to my teenage years. I used to listen to all Chimaira songs/albums and used to inspire me in songwriting with my band. Happy days Indeed
I had a very similar set up back in the day as well. I used to run two BOSS NS-2 pedals in my 6505+ since it was so damn noisy! Eventually I got a ISP Decimator Pro Rack G and that completely fixed up the hum and little whistle sound you hear at the end from the strings. Overtime I got tired of luggin around all that heavy gear and just settled for a Axe Fx AX8 which is what I now currently use. Gotta make sure we watch our backs! (Literally lol)
This is the rig of rigs, utterly savage chugs but just enough fx to make buttery leads and awesome cleans! Wonder if there will be a stream of the reunion? Or come play london uk again 🤘🤘🤘

I remember first hearing your band on Farmclub playing Dead Inside and really diggin' the tune and the next thing I know you all get signed to Roadrunner Records and also seeing you all play a ton of shows in the early 2000's great times and Chimaira was/is one of my favorite live bands. I was never disappointed!!! Keep on rockin'!!! \m/
It’s going to be so siiiiick! Can’t wait for this show. I was curious if you were going to work that Framus amp in there lol… Or build this massive rig and just be like “just kidding, I’m using my kemper…” 😆 🤘
I'm super JUICED to see you guys live!!! It's been far to long. Love the hair rob, killer set up. My first real guitar was because of you guys. Ltd Esp m-100 series. What I used to learn all your guys amazing material.
Jealous of everyone that has a ticket to the Reunion Tour. Damn! When will we see a national tour of Chimaira? That would be awesome! 🎸🤟 hoping it happens soon. Keep rocking Rob, love the videos.
Thanks for the rundown Rob! I recently picked up a 6505+ Head, and man I wish I had gotten one sooner. What a beast! I have a Maxon OD808 that I usually run in front of my other amp, but I haven't really needed it on this one. It seems like cranking the presence knob to around 8 has a similar effect, at least to my ears.
Oh man I always loved your guitar tone, is so fckin sick. This is how a fckin guitar must sound, like a punch straight to your face. This is my reference when I'm looking for new gear to my guitar
Im pumped for the show! Both days and a meet n greet. Are you guys gonna record the show? A DVD or stream would be nice...could be the last we see of you guys for a long time. Keep it alive and rock on!
Seen these guys every time they came to Detroit. Best show I have ever seen was at a small club in Ohio called the hard hat or maybe it was called headliners. But it what chimaira and trivium. Amazing show
@@RobArnoldWorld yes sir. Show was amazing , y’all sounded great . Was definitely worth the 2 hour drive from where I lived in Michigan at the time. Only bad thing about that night is I bought a impossibility of reason hoody and during the last song I took it off and someone jacked it. Was so mad and y’all were sold out of them. So bummed but amazing show.
Oh I would love to go to one of these shows. It's great to hear that you guys are doing a reunion. I discovered You guys very late. 2017. And Chimaira became one of my favorite bands. And Rob. You have become one of my favorite guitar players. I'm an old guy and don't go to concerts anymore. Health issues. But I would go if you guys ever went on tour and came to Phoenix. Love your channel because I have been trying like HELL to figure out how to play your guitar riffs. My God! Quite the Bitch of a challenge for an old 80s bass player. 😆
@@RobArnoldWorld Oh WOW! I had no idea. Phoenix was a Metal HOTBED in the 80s. I was plugged in bigtime, in that era. But it was too influenced by the LA scene of the day. That was a bummer for me. I wanted to do heavier stuff. So I bounced from band to band and never was happy. It's very Heavy here, today. A friend of my daughter's had a gig last night, that was epic for him from what I saw on his Facebook. And they are Heavy as Hell. Oh if I was younger. LOL. You guys have a great couple of shows and I'm looking forward to seeing it on You Tube.
I see Chimaira once and thats the last tour, nobody of you guys be there only Mark,i hope all of you guys back,Rob,Mark, jim,Andols,Mat and Spicuzza thats to me is awesome dude!!!!!
I can't tell you how much I'm surprised to see that your MultiFX unit is this Digitech rack - and it sounds VEEEEERY GOOD! Cheers from Brazil (hey, Chimaira should consider coming here!)
The 1101 let's you easily use your amps own pre amp and combine it with the digital effects + you can switch between the amps pre and the modeled pres in the 1101. The effects themselves are okay, but not the best. The delays and reverbs lack options to effectively shape their frequency spectrum which is really sad. The older 2101 was far more versatile, but at the same time much harder to program.
Can confidently say Chimaira influenced my playing-and my band’s-in the early aughts, paving a way for a lot of us out of the nu metal phase into the new wave of American metal/metalcore. Recently been getting back into noodling around and finding these videos both helpful and nostalgic. Sadly, won’t be at the anniversary shows but really excited for all of you. Cheers 🍻
Im SO happy and excited for the show I just want to buy a plane ticket rigth now just to see you guys for the first time live !!! so many lucky people are going to see the best guitar player in the world , congrats Rob !! love and cheers hope to snag a guitar pick one day..💞🤘🎸
Love seeing your content and glad you guys are still working together. I remember I went to a show in I think the earlyish 2000s in Orlando. It was at a smaller club and the show was intense. I'll never forget it.
I got the same custom Cab! Except mine was Doc Coyles from when he was in God forbid! Buddy sold it to me who bought it directly from Doc! Amazing sounding cab!
Hi ROB! thank you for sharing this with you! as you have already tested with a Boss SD1 on the front, personally I have the same rig as you and I can't do without this boost pedal
I have been a huge fan since pass out of existence extremely underrated band. Some of best albums EVER great riffs , killer breakdowns 100% perfect metal. 2023 shows awwww FUCK YEAH.
Been a fan since 2005 and after losing Dime you definitely provided the groove riffs my man thank you! Resurrection is my fav. Would love to hear you in a party groove thrash joint❤
@@RobArnoldWorld Mine is super old and needed new cloth, missing logo, etc - Yours looks like New Old Stock so I'm a little jealous! Thanks for sharing your cool and ripping rig, dude 🤘
Thanks for all the great RUclips content, Mr. Rob. Randomly, I wanted to take a sec to appreciate your guitar work and riffery on SFU - UNDEAD. That is the only SFU album I own and have it only because you are the riff meister. That disc is chock full of just bad ass playing and kliler, killer riffs. Absolutely fantastic stuff and so good for the GYM! 18 Days with those wicked trills, Missing Victims with that dissonance, Reckless has like a metal boogie going on, top notch chuggies and riffery man. THANK YOU.
Interesting to see you using "real" amps, cabs, footswitches, etc. A lot of people are rocking the Axe-FX/Kemper/etc, "isocab", in ears, MIDI setups these days. Is it just a case of "don't fix it if it ain't broke" sort of thing or do you run a "real" rig like this for some specific reason? I've had an Axe-FX for YEARS now. It's mounted in a little gator case type of thing (I think that's what it's called...) and man...being able to walk into the studio or whatever with the guitar in one hand and literally EVERYTHING ELSE in the other (I keep all the cables, a laptop to control it, etc in a pocket on the case) is REALLY nice!! Complete load in in a single trip! lol
I am glad to see you using the older Digitech GSP 1101 and the Control 2 floor board controller...I had a Digitech Valve FX rack unit and used the same Control 2 and it worked flawlessly and had some great sponds..but like a lot of other gear I've sold now that I see you using the Digitech gear makes me want to find and buy another one..and I am a huge fan of single humbucker guitars..I have 3 now and was always a neck-through the body user but have grown to like bolt on necks as well because I like switching necks around to find the perfect one.. I really like your ESP guitar that you are using.. overall nice and simple setup with amazing sound(s). Thanks as always for the video.
Hey thanks for tuning in man! And I wish you luck on re-aquiring an 1101! Ever since making this video, it's dawned on me that TONS of dudes still love the 1101. There's a whole FB community centered around it that I was never aware of. It's a great piece of gear that I had no idea was adored by so many!🎸
Watching this today while picking about on my new rig. And low and behold, with the temperature changes here in IN this time of year, going for 50 in day to 30 at night, causing me some tuning issues lol
Impossibility is one of the very few albums I can press play on and just let it rip the whole way through. To me, it’s a metal masterpiece.

Awesome to hear man! Glad you found us! I grew up in and started playing guitar in Ahwatukee, AZ! 🎸
Realy? Thats crazy man,Mexico city is ready for that fucking reunion 🤟🤟
Chimaira always LOVED playing Mexico City!🤘
I see Chimaira once and thats the last tour, nobody of you guys be there only Mark,i hope all of you guys back,Rob,Mark, jim,Andols,Mat and Spicuzza thats to me is awesome dude!!!!!
I can’t remember if me or my buddy had one, but we had a Chimaira jager shot glass and a jager pick. Love collecting that stuff
🥃
🔥🤘😈🤘🔥 Fuck yeah! I've dreamed of this day for so long and finally.. The Reunion. Thank you Rob for all that you do!
🤘
Sad I live in a different part of world. Hope one day my dream to see you live will become true because Chimaira is my favorite metal band!😎
It's great to see how a real simple setup like this can be done while still being so versatile. Educational as always. 🤘🤘
I can’t wait to see you and the dudes live again man, it’s gonna be great whenever it happens!
It’s been since 2008 when I last saw the band live
The Impossibility of Reason....in stores this May.
🤘🤣
I can't tell you how much I'm surprised to see that your MultiFX unit is this Digitech rack - and it sounds VEEEEERY GOOD!
Cheers from Brazil (hey, Chimaira should consider coming here!)
Cheers to Brazil! 🤘
Rob, thanks!
Yessss!!!! Sounds killer!
Cheers 🍻
Awesome man! And glad to hear you're digging the vids! Cheers and happy noodling!
Im SO happy and excited for the show I just want to buy a plane ticket rigth now just to see you guys for the first time live !!! so many lucky people are going to see the best guitar player in the world , congrats Rob !! love and cheers hope to snag a guitar pick one day..💞🤘🎸
I wish you could make it too! I'l have plenty of footage available here on the channel over the coming months! 😎
Love seeing your content and glad you guys are still working together. I remember I went to a show in I think the earlyish 2000s in Orlando. It was at a smaller club and the show was intense. I'll never forget it.
We always loved playing Florida!🤘
Forget the rig, stoked to see the hair coming back!
Haha 🤘🤣
I got the same custom Cab! Except mine was Doc Coyles from when he was in God forbid! Buddy sold it to me who bought it directly from Doc! Amazing sounding cab!
Whoa awesome man! I honestly had no idea more of these existed! I'll have to bring it up with Doc next time I touch base with him!🤘
@@RobArnoldWorld haha yeah, its an amazing cab! Iv been pairing it with my Framus Dragon that used to be own by Joel from Kse! Amazing combo!
@@shizzlefohizzle417 Killer!
Such a professional!!! Love you brother see you guys in 67 days!! The hair is looking great Rob rockstar ready!
Haha thanks man!🤘
Glad yall are reuniting! Hopefully you guys will do a full on tour on the near future! 🤘🏻
Hi ROB! thank you for sharing this with you! as you have already tested with a Boss SD1 on the front, personally I have the same rig as you and I can't do without this boost pedal
Nothing wrong with that bro! To each their own!
I have been a huge fan since pass out of existence extremely underrated band. Some of best albums EVER great riffs , killer breakdowns 100% perfect metal. 2023 shows awwww FUCK YEAH.
🤘😝🤘
Love the tone !!!!!
Been a fan since 2005 and after losing Dime you definitely provided the groove riffs my man thank you! Resurrection is my fav. Would love to hear you in a party groove thrash joint❤
🙏👊 I'm honored!
enjoying the meaty tone; very metal. Hope to see Chimaira play more shows around the US
I saw the cab and had to pop in. I rescued one of those awhile back and it's sitting in my basement with new speakers.
That's awesome man! Until the other day, I never knew there were more of these out there!
@@RobArnoldWorld Mine is super old and needed new cloth, missing logo, etc - Yours looks like New Old Stock so I'm a little jealous! Thanks for sharing your cool and ripping rig, dude 🤘
@@TheLaw1 Right on! Yeah mine hasn't gigged much, and has always been more of a studio cab, so it's still in great shape!
I hope you have the opportunity to return to Mexico with chimaira🤘
Me too!🤘
I love digitech processors. I've had the same one since 07
My 2 most sought after guitars I want right now is an RA-600 and Static-600.
I should have bought them when I had the chance.
Be cool to have a new live DVD Blu ray concert
Good luck on your reunion shows Rob!! Hope to see some great footage.
🤘
Thanks for all the great RUclips content, Mr. Rob. Randomly, I wanted to take a sec to appreciate your guitar work and riffery on SFU - UNDEAD. That is the only SFU album I own and have it only because you are the riff meister. That disc is chock full of just bad ass playing and kliler, killer riffs. Absolutely fantastic stuff and so good for the GYM! 18 Days with those wicked trills, Missing Victims with that dissonance, Reckless has like a metal boogie going on, top notch chuggies and riffery man. THANK YOU.
Thanks so much dude! I'm super happy to hear that, and super proud of UNDEAD! Cheers!👊🤘
Complete load in in a single trip! lol
Cool man, and to each their own! It's definitely a case of "if it ain't broke...".
@@RobArnoldWorld That's what I was thinking. If it has worked for this long, why fuck with it, right? Hahaha
@@rmp5s 💪
Can’t wait for new material😮
It's a great piece of gear that I had no idea was adored by so many!🎸
@@RobArnoldWorldI found one for $325 yesterday and probably going to buy it..
Thanks for replying and your channels awesome!
Oh right on man! Score! 🤘🎸@@rosskrause3926
I read about people switching back to the 1101 from Kempers, because of the simplicity of the 1101.
I am unbelievably stoked for the reunion
Very happy to hear about the Reunion Rob!
I cannot wait til the show friday.
Man I got to make it to Cleveland somehow all the way from Idaho
🤘🥔
God I miss Chimaira. I grew up jamming to all your guys tunes.
👊
Watching this today while picking about on my new rig. And low and behold, with the temperature changes here in IN this time of year, going for 50 in day to 30 at night, causing me some tuning issues lol
Sounds like you might be keeping your guitars outdoors!?
@@RobArnoldWorld nope, leaving window open too long lol
@@DrMurdercock Haha
Z-Bar is the name of the mic clamp for anyone wanting to find one 😄
Thanks man!
we want chimaira concerts in mexico and around the world! 🙌🏻
This was really cool to see! I cant wait for the show it's going to be killer
