This band, I swear to God - lot of their songs take a few listens to get into but the lyrics are just irreverently beautiful without exception. Never failing to make me shudder.
@@GoranZecSome songs are like Joy Division. The best song to me are the ones you need to listen to about 3 times because there’s so much to take in and when it comes together it’s beautiful. Radiohead has been my all time favourite band in the world but it still takes three listens for them and then they’re on permanent rotation.
Saw these dudes live opening for Arctic Monkeys. Never heard of them prior and holy crap they blew me away. I was just in a trance. Been listening to them non stop since. I will definitely see them again 🙌
Love the brooding, hypnotic sound of this track. Kinda wish it was a bit longer, but that's a sign of a song leaving you wanting more in a good way. 'Skinty Fia' is shaping up to be one of the best albums of the year.
I love the authenticity of their lyrics. You can tell he's struggled, is self-aware and doesn't want other's to suffer him like he suffers himself. Genius.
Yeah there's a maturity in Grian's writing that he's had since the start. I don't know many men or women in their 20s who have such a well rounded mature prose and style. He writes like he's lived for 100 years and it's a huge part of what makes this band so solid. Its clear that they adore poetry and know what they're doing. Apparently they met via shared love of poetry which seems right.
ah man there's so much to unravel here. big 90's experimental vibes with a dash of funky hip hop drums and that bass line is KILLER. cant wait to catch you lads state side next month
I hear some of that pulsing brushed soundscape that Peter Gabriel has used to such great effect - even some David Rhodes guitar scratches in there. And of course it’s none of that, either. Totally singular. Brilliant.
I hear Peter Hook in that baseline and Bernard Sumner in those guitar stabs, reminds me of Transmission. This is Joy Division with an amazing dance beat, and I mean that as a huge complement.
Les ví en Madrid anoche y tengo que decir que el concierto fue cortisimo; tocaron una hora y cuarto solamente! No me gusto esa actitud y ,en ese sentido, me defraudaron.
